Celebrity Apprentice 2012: Dayana Mendoza And Lisa Lampanelli Create Tension!
The Women
In the episode of Celebrity Apprentice 2012 that aired on television April 29, words between two female cast members led to the tensest boardroom this season!
Comic Lisa Lampanelli and Miss Universe Dayana Mendoza, two Forte team members, started working civilly with one another at the start of the task to create a jingle. The women, however, were shouting at one another across the boardroom table in the final minutes of the show. Donald Trump listened to the arguments of both women before determining who on team Forte he would fire this week.
The Boardroom
Lampanelli and Mendoza were two of the three members of team Forte, along with Clay Aiken. The task this week was to create a jingle for Good Sam Roadside Assistance. The team lost the task against team Unanimous, which put the three celebrities in the boardroom in front of Trump at the end of the episode. Mendoza had been the project manager of team Forte.
Tension could be cut with a knife between the two women as they discussed who Trump should send home for the loss of the challenge. Aiken rarely entered into the conversation. The voices of both women rose as they explained two ways of seeing what had caused their team to lose the task; each woman argued that she found it difficult to work with the other woman.
Lisa Lampanelli
The Arguments
Mendoza said that she found Lampanelli to be hostile toward her and a very strong personality. Mendoza also explained that she had offered to help the comedian with the lyrics for the jingle but had been turned away. While working on the project, she invited Lampanelli to sit beside her to share the laptop to work on the lyrics. Mendoza said to Trump she was frustrated that while she tried to lead the team her suggestions on the music and presentation were turned down time and time again.
Lampanelli said that she turned Mendoza down for the lyric writing because she did not have good ideas. The tension grew in the boardroom as Lampanelli also said that Mendoza did not have a good handle on American music. Earlier in the task, for example, Mendoza had suggested a Duran Duran style of music for the 60's music theme of the team. Not even the same decade of music!
Lampanelli also said that Mendoza did not know how to rhyme as she thought that the word "sam" rhymed with "track". Lampanelli explained that she did not know why Mendoza volunteered to be project manager for this task given her lack of music knowledge. The professional comedian also said that she had no respect for Dayana Mendoza. The words were no joke to either woman.
Mendoza Gets Fired
Donald Trump listened at the table to the ladies speak and also asked Aiken his views on Mendoza's performance in the task. Aiken said that while he did not agree with the phrasing that Lampanelli used as she spoke to Mendoza, he did agree with the information.
As is the nature of Celebrity Apprentice, Trump must fire at least one celebrity at the end of each television episode. For the April 29 episode, Trump turned to Mendoza and said, "You're fired."
Mendoza left Trump Towers and the show by private car; she spoke to the camera while sitting in the back seat. She said she did not know why some people had to be so mean and that they needed to remember that the show is about earning money for each celebrity's chosen charity.
Just one more question: What word rhymes with "You're fired"??!
