Who is Chuck Lidell?

Liddell is a legend in the sport of mixed martial arts. He is credited as among the fighters who because of their popularity, brought MMA into the mainstream. His most notable fights were his cage matches against Tito Ortiz, Quinton Jackson, Jeremy Horn, Randy Couture, Wanderlei Silva, Rashad Evans, and Mauricio Rua. During his stint in the UFC, he was the most feared striker in the light heavyweight division.

On July 10, 2009 he was honored by the MMA community by inducting him into the UFC Hall of Fame.

Retirement

After losing for three consecutive times to Rashad Evans, Mauricio Rua, and Rich Franklin, Liddell announced his retirement from the sport on December 29, 2010 at the UFC 125 press conference. After retirement, Liddell started to work for the UFC by taking on the position of Vice President of Business Development in the organization.

  • In an episode titled 'Ka Hakaka Maika’i' (The Good Fight), Chuck 'The Iceman' Liddell appeared as himself.
  • In the episode, Five-0 investigates the murder of a rich restaurant owner. The investigation causes a member of the team to take part in a charity mixed martial arts fight.

Blue Mountain State (2011)

  • 'Blue Mountain State' is a television comedy series about a fictional university in Pennsylvania and a football team called 'The Goats'.
  • The show portrayed aspects of university life like binge drinking, sex, football, partying, and hazing. The show run for three seasons.
  • Chuck Liddell appeared on episode 12 of the show's second season. The episode was called 'Trap Game'. He appeared as himself teaching one of the show's characters how to fight.
