Close-Up's Odds & Ends

Updated on December 1, 2011

Close-Ups

I have only recently started taking close-ups, in the past I had, true, quite a number of tightly framed odds and ends of a full photograph, which when viewed on its own, looked like a closeup! If any of you are movie buffs, then Blow up, would ring a bell.

Why the shift, well over the past couple of years I am starting to realize that there is a very large world, within a very small area, I mean, up close and no not personal.

Now not looking at the Micro level, which is a whole new and fascinating world, rather I am looking at Macro level.

This started just after purchasing my first SDLR camera.

My wife was running a Sewing School, you know Ladies, teaching other Ladies, to make their own clothes, or how to teachother ladies ....... . I was running the admin side of our franchise. The Franchise owner, then tried to con me into starting a Craft type of Ancillary to the School, feeding me info on various crafts she could teach me too teach other people, at a small Franchise fee, of course.

Picture Perfect

An apt expression, which is so very often used, aft abused.

Now here is some examples of using picture perfect to sharpen ones taste buds, using eye appeal.

As An Enticement

A well presented cup of Coffee, in this case a Latte'.

Looked as it tasted Strong and full of the aroma of Freshly Ground Coffee Beans no Chicory.

Aviod Red Eye

Yes, this is one of my pet phobias, especially with babies and animals.

What you see when you take a flash photo of an eye, especially babies and pets. You are temporarily blinded and have an after spot of colour dancing around your vision for several minutes after the photo was taken.

Well imagine yourself at the age of 0 to 18 months and suddenly this happens to you, you have no Idea what it is and what causes this! It can be quite traumatic.

As for animals it is worse there only means of dedecting and evaing danger is taken away from them.

The result in your photo is Red Eyes, the can be edited out.

Then at times when you least expect it!

Our back neighbours where having a party, it was Sunday morning at 01H38, they had been going for some 6 hours. My "Puppies", had to go for a nocturnal break, so I opened up the back door, as was my wont.

Assailed by the volume and distortion and senseless cacophany of sound that is considered to be music today, through a sleep deprived haze, the tree had been transformed by a mixture of various different lights to this vista.

Out came the tripod, set up, and a couple of test bracketed shots, and this be the result.

By the way the "party" ended up some 2 hours later!
