Cosby Kids Have Moved On

The Cosby Show was a TV comedy that ran for eight seasons from 1984 to 1992 and featured the African-American Huxtable family with five children living in Brooklyn. The head of the clan was Cliff Huxtable, portrayed by comedian Bill Cosby. Actress Phylicia Rashad played Cliff's wife, Clair Huxtable.

The talented young actors that played the Huxtable children have grown up and moved on. Let's take a look at the actors and where they are now.

Oldest Daughter, Sondra Portrayed by Sabrina LeBeauf

The role of Sondra Huxtable was portrayed by Sabrina LeBeauf, a beautiful young woman who was only 10 years younger than Rashad, who played her mother on the show. LeBeauf auditioned against young actress Whitney Houston for the part but was given the winning nod by Bill Cosby despite the closeness in age of LeBeauf and Rashad.

LeBeauf performs frequently with the Shakespeare Theater Company in Washington, DC. She appeared as a guest star on two episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation as Ensign Giusti in "Gambit, Part I and II". She also did the voice over for the character Norma Bindlebeep in the animated series Fatherhood.

LeBeauf, whose beauty reflects her Louisiana Creole descent, was born in New Orleans in 1958. She is single and has no children.

Lisa Bonet

Lisa Bonet Starred as Denise Huxtable

The role of Denise Huxtable was played by actress Lisa Bonet. She left the series in 1987 to star in a spin off comedy, A Different World, which was about Denise in college. She returned to the Cosby Show, only to get fired because of being late to work almost daily and unprofessional behavior.

She appeared in several made for TV movies and had roles in the movies High Fidelity and Biker Boyz. Some have described her career as lackluster.

Bonet was born in 1967 and is divorced. She has three children, including actress Zoe Kravitz.

Although she still uses the name Lisa Bonet professionally, she has legally changed her name to Lilakoi Moon.

After the finale, she continued her acting career. She has performed roles in two Lifetime Network programs, Strong Medicine and South of Nowhere. In the mid 1990's, she hosted her own daytime talk show, The Tempestt Bledsoe Show. She also had a recurring role on The Practice. Youngest Daughter, Rudy Huxtable - All Grown Up!

Keshia Knight Pulliam played the role of Rudy, the youngest Huxtable child. She was only 5 years old when the show premiered.

In 1986, she became the youngest actress ever to be nominated for an Emmy award for best supporting actress for her work on the Cosby Show. She was up against some very stiff competition and lost the award to Rhea Perlman of Cheers.

Polls, recent as well as during the heyday of the show, have shown that Rudy was voted the favorite character by viewers.

After the show ended, her family moved to Virginia where she finished school. She performed in several reality shows such as Fear Factor and The Weakest Link. She had a part in the movie Beauty Shop with Queen Latifah and played Miranda in the television show Tyler Perry's House of Payne.

Keshia has formed a non-profit organization, Kamp Kizzy, a summer day camp program for girls who are 11 to 16 years old.

Born in 1979, she married Edgar Hartwell in January 2016. In July 2016, she announced they were expecting their first child. A week later, Hartwell filed for divorce.

Oh my gosh - I love this show! I keep trying to get my son to watch, but he doesn't see the appeal. How sad for him :) Thank you so much for filling us in on their lives! I feel like I know them all personally, so it is like catching up with old friends.

I was too old to catch this one when home from school. My favorite "way back then" was the Andy Griffith show!

They just don't make tv shows like they used to. I remember when I was home sick from school, this was my favorite show to watch.
