His birth name was- Richard Wayne Van Dyke.With his Dad "cookie"and mother Hazel,and younger brother Jerry.

His star role in the musical "Mary Poppins" won him a Grammy and Emmy award. (This was one of Dick's favorite and mine,too.

Dick Van Dyke's Childhood was a happy one.Although his family was poor and struggled to pay the bills,Dick says he never felt poor.He grew up in a small town where a lot of people didn't have anything.

Dick did very well in school his least favorite subject was math. Everything was paid for by the show.In 1948 unfortunately they were divorced in and divorced in 1984 but we living apart for years before officially got divorced. They had 4 children together,in the late 80s he met Michelle Trioia and later married and stayed together until her death in 2006.
