Dita Von Teese Underwear

Updated on August 28, 2015

Since 2008, Dita Von Teese, the fetish icon and Queen of Burlesque, has been teaming up with Wonderbra to create a limited edition lingerie collection: Wonderbra by Dita Von Teese, only available in stores across Europe. The collection, created by Dita and inspired by her love of beautiful vintage lingerie, is designed emphasising quality and comfort, to inspire women of all ages to embrace their inner-glamour and beauty.

This is the first time that a celebrity is “the face” and also designs a lingerie collection for Wonderbra.

How did Dita Von Teese design a lingerie collection?

To design her Wonderbra collection, Dita aimed to produce lingerie that she herself would want to wear; lingerie that would be classy and glamorous but at the same time comfortable and practical. What she aimed to design was not only underwear to seduce men, but underwear that would make women of all ages and shapes feel sexy and happy with their bodies.

Vintage Inspired Underwear

It is perhaps difficult to imagine that somewhat restrictive lingerie inspired in the 1940s and 1950s fashion could be sensual, but Dita has managed to create incredibly sexy pieces which model a woman’s body enhancing their breasts and curves creating a small waist with the aid of corsets and artfully designed cuts. As a direct result, Dita’s underwear make a woman’s silhouette look slimmer but curvaceous and more appealing.

Dita’s first Wonderbra collection was launched on August 2008 and it was so successful that in September 2009 Dita launched her second limited edition the "Wonderbra Party Edition by Dita Von Teese".

The 2008 lingerie collection by Dita has a big retro influence, mainly from the 40s and 50s. The sensual and sophisticated collection is composed of three sets: The Spot, the Multi and the Satin. The three sets are designed to embellish curves and make the most of a woman’s silhouette.

The beauty of the 2008 collection relies in the attention to detail and the fact that such sensual and glamorous underwear can be worn under everyday clothes. You could be wearing a power suit to work, jogging pants to walk the dog or jeans to take the children to school; but still feel sexy because you know that you are wearing glamorous and sexy lingerie underneath. Dita’s lingerie is about embracing womanhood and loving yourself.
