Jackson died at UCLA Medical Center after being stricken at his rented
home in Holmby Hills. Paramedics tried to resuscitate him at his home
for nearly three-quarters of an hour, then rushed him to the hospital,
where doctors continued to work on him. At the age of 50 the popstar died in cardiac arrest. It is believed that the incident happens in his home. Jermaine Jackson cautioned at a hospital press conference Thursday that the cause of his death would not be known until an autopsy was performed.
He said Michael Jackson's personal doctor and paramedics tried to resuscitate him at his
rented home in Holmby Hills. A team of doctors at UCLA Medical Center also tried for more
than an hour.
Los Angeles police Lt. Gregg Strenk said at a separate news conference that police robbery-homicide detectives have been ordered to investigate, which is common in a high-profile case. Strenk says the coroner's office, which will handle inquiries into the type of death, is taking possession of the body.
In Honor of Michael Jackson the "King of Pop"
Young Michael burst on the scene at age of 11 as a member of the Jackson 5.
Michael (far left) and his brothers rocked some serious fros in the '70s as they dominated the Billboard charts with hit singles such as "ABC" and "I'll Be There."
By the late '80s, Michael had undergone a drastic physical transformation and introduced one of his trademark accessories - the colored armband. For a decade of chart-toppers, Michael was given the Special Award of Achievement at the American Music Awards.
At the 1995 MTV VMAs, Michael was joined by Slash for a medley of "Billie Jean," "Beat It," "Don't Stop 'til You Get Enough," and "Black or White."
We'll miss you, Michael. Rest in peace. God bless !!!
