Fifty Shades of Grey Online Review

Anything But Taboo!

Years ago it was taboo for a woman to sit and read an erotic story but now a days, women are intrigued by the trilogy of E.L. James and the Fifty Shades of Grey books. The first book was enough of a lure that more women became obsessed and couldn't wait to get to the next book. The story has become the new Twilight Saga. Here is a review of the movie and what you can expect to find in the new movie.

The movie opened up Worldwide on Valentines day and became one of the highest grossing movies of all times. Sitting through the movie which everyone raved about seeing was just something I did in order to escape my screaming children for a night. I gathered up my best friends and piled into a van to head off to the local theater for a night out. I was not keen on seeing this movie since I had not read the books or knew what was the big deal about this book or movie. I stood in line to get the popcorn and drinks and were then escorted to our seats within the movie theater. We came in just as the movie was finishing up its last preview. We sat patiently waiting for the movie to start.

The opening of the movie was not what I thought it would be. I mean a simple girl fussing amuss about her not so easily ruled hair and her sick room mate. Not what I imagined the movie would be like. I sat and surrendered myself to what I thought would be a horrible movie and yet landed to be one of the best I've seen in my life. I sat with my girl friends trying to keep from making a noise yet found myself melting into the screen each time Christian Grey came onscreen. Boy did they choose a good actor for this part.

I think that the suspense of keeping everyone in their seat was the secret as to why he is the way he is. You kind of get an idea when they discuss Mrs. Robinson but you truly don't understand until the tale end of the movie. You sit and watch as they play this cat and mouse game and try to avoid what is meant to be but they eventually succumb to one another and make the perfect love story.

After sitting thru the whole movie and seeing what the book was about, I had to go and get the book of course, which I have not put down except to write this article. I can not seem to get enough of Christian and Anastasia Steele. Wow, what a couple. I mean, who would have thought a rich man would settle for the less than comfortable living of Ana.

When the movie came to an end, everyone in the theater is left screaming at the silver screen. You can tell that more movies are to come but it clearly left you longing for more. I felt sort of bad because I had taken my newly 18 year old niece with me and my best friend and the things she seen will now ruin her for a healthy relationship down the road but its all good! She now knows what else there is to know about adult relationships and what is healthy and what is not or at least what can be fun and what isn't.

One for the Team

I have to admit that when my friends told me about the books and asked if I had read them, I didn't think it would be something that I would like to read however after seeing the movie, I was hooked. I love the movie not because of the erotic scenes or because you get to see Mr. Christian Grey with no shirt on, which of course is an added bonus but because I look to the love between the onscreen actors and actresses. There is love behind that eroticness. I love that they both struggle with their inner beings in order to overcome obstacles and move forward in a relationship, its not the happily ever after ending that most movies play for you and shows you how difficult it can be in order to make relationships work. A real Struggle that most couples face but that most movies wont play for you. A true A+ movie in my opinion.
