Froggy's Top Ten in Disco

Keeping up with my other top-ten music hubs, you now get to see my picks for the top ten disco artists.

I always had a little part of me that enjoyed disco, but don't ever tell my friends.

Scroll down and see about this craze of the 1970s and early 80's.

#1 K.C. and the Sunshine Band

How could you not want to dance when they came on the radio? K.C. had it going on when disco took off!

#2 Donna Summers

Man, this woman could sing! I had to put her at the top of the list.

#3 The Bee Gees

The Bee Gee's were top of the charts a lot during the disco era.

#4 Patti LaBelle

This woman could put up a great fight for being the Queen of disco. Just had to dance!

#5 Village People

Now I can't really say I cared for this a whole lot, but they hit the charts bigtime. They deserve the walk on Froggy's top ten.

#6 ABBA

I know a lot of people may not think they were disco, but I think they were. I loved this Swedish band. This group had it happening.

#7 Sister Sledge

Here was a group that were always playing on jukeboxes. You had to love em.These girls can sing!

#8 Gloria Gaynor

Really well known for the song I will Survive. She was a very good artist.

#9 Peaches and Herb

This was a duo who could put the perfect romantic mood in an evening. They will be remembered forever.

#10 Rick Dees

I just had to put Rick here because of the song Disco Duck. The first time I heard it I almost wrecked my car with laughter.

Hope you enjoyed--keep watching for more top ten lists!

Wouldn't you say that's when music was music? Even dance music had a hint of music to it. Great hub Froggie.

Oh my goodness!! Now you have sent us back into the time capsule, Rick Dee's I listened to him when I was a young "Disco Duck" quack!!!quack!!!quack!! it was funny. I played Peaches and Herb over and over again, of course until the record my good old 45 ended up getting scratched. As a very young girl I LOVE K.C. i thought when I grew up I would marry him. :) Funny how times change isn't it? I love this Hub!! The music was at its prime then , I believe it was the best !! Great Hub!!!

Excellent hub, Froggie!

Although you mentioned some timeless classics, there's a few that I include often in my wedding reception sets that I didn't see here, such as Earth, Wind, and Fire - September and Kool and the Gang - Celebration. Then again, the music back then was so original and unique that ten songs couldn't possibly do the era justice!
