Garden Designs Photography

There is something relaxing about looking at a garden up in the San Bernardino Mountains. The maintained garden makes the perfect contrast to the pine trees and other wild vegetation that abound on the mountainsides. One thing I can tell you about gardening in the mountains is that it is not easy with hard clay rocky soil, and it often takes lots of digging and enriching of the soil to dig a proper garden. People who grew up in the Mid-West where gardening was easy because most anything you put in the ground grows on its own are often puzzled by the stubborn soil in the mountains of Southern California. You need to enrich the soil with manure and make a compost pile if you want gardening to work well for you here. Mostly I just love to take pictures of morning glories, squash plants, tomatoes, and assorted other flowers, so here these are.

I am also not a gardener, but enjoy pretty gardens. The photos you took are very nice, my favorite is the morning glory and the bright sunflowers.

It was relaxing reading and viewing the photos, so glad you shared!

Hi Violet,

My parents are really awesome gardeners, so I like taking pictures there. I love the morning glories too, and I have more photos for the next installment. Thanks for commenting :).

I never thought of putting in the wind chimes with the tomatoes. Now that I have seen it, I am definitely going to try it with my tomatoes! The flowers from the beasns are so delicate I have garden peas and they are also lovely - a nice pink and yellow

Lovely photos SweetiePie! I love the blend of the colors that the gardeners have achieved with the Morning Glory and the Sun Flowers. I believe that the Owl statues act as good scarecrows to keep the other birds off the veggies!

Agusfanani,

Glad you enjoyed it.

Aguvulpes,

Yes the owl is a very good scarecrow for the birds.

Lovely! These pics really made me want to plant some flowers. Too bad I only have one small balcony, not a big backyard.

Hi Om Parampoonya,

I only have a small patio too, but might get some containers some day. I like to take pictures, that is all :).
