Gathering of Peace, Love, and Music at Woodstock 1969
Hey everybody! I just wanted to write a little bit about Woodstock. Yup, that's right. Three days of peace and music. And did I mention the love? Even though I wasn't born until four years after this event, something about this moment in history always seems to amaze me. I guess it's the beauty of it all.... of how 500,000 people gathered on Max Yasgur's 600 acre farm in Bethel (NY) for three days to watch so many acts perform, which included such talented peformers, such as; Richie Havens, Joan Baez, Santana, Janis Joplin, Sly & the Family Stone, Joe Cocker, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Jimi Hendrix, and many more. But the greatest part for me is how people joined together harmoniously, spreading peace, enjoying the music, and really living in the moment. I did have the opportunity to attend an unofficial 25th anniversary concert in 1994 at the original Woodstock site in Bethel, NY and it was wonderful! It didn't draw in a large crowd like the anniversary concert in Saugerties, but there was at least 30,000 people camping and enjoying the festival. And just like the original Woodstock.... it rained and there was lots of mud, folks! Lol. Well, hope you enjoy my Hub and the photos and videos below! And if you've been to Woostock, I'd love for you to share your memories!!
Peace, Love and Happiness :)
