At age 16 I was a volunteer at a hospital bacteriology lab. I became a chemist for U.S. government. Then I studied health & related fields.

Introduction to Movies

After writing this article I decided to add movies to it since I love movies! Note how most of the movies do not have the name of the movie so they cannot be found with a search. I have added another article that will also hold movies on HD called Movies to Watch on Youtube.

Check back often for new movies that I add to this.

TV Series like Banacek & Joan of Arcadia

There was a series with a similar plot on TV called Knight Rider. The episodes of this TV series are not on Youtube so it is probably for sale. Whereas these other series may not be on sale so someone put them on Youtube and the owners do not care since they are not selling them.

While watching the different episodes of Viper, I saw that they had The Sentinel TV series. So I watched a few episodes of them. I had seen this before and it was one of my favorite TV series. It is about a police detective that has powers like seeing and hearing things that no one else can and other abilities.

While I was watching them I saw they had the series Banacek on Youtube. These are around TV quality before they had HD with some being better than others. The Banacek series were in great quality and this was an amazing TV show to watch. This series is about a Polish private detective played by George Peppard who was one of the most handsome actors ever. He played with Aubrey Hepburn in the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's.

In this TV series, this private investigator is a genius and rich. He investigates these crimes that are impossible crimes and an insurance company has insured what was stolen for many millions of dollars. No other investigators have no idea how these crimes could have ever happened. When he solves one of these so the police can recover the items, it saves the insurance company many millions of dollars so they pay him around a million dollars for solving it (actually 10% of its insured value).

I remember one episode from many years ago where there was train with many passenger cars and freight cars on it. One freight car had a futuristic car on it worth millions of dollars. It traveled through the night without ever stopping. But they saw that it was missing the freight car with the expensive stuff on it when it arrived. This one is season 1 episode 2 or 1x02.

When trying to watch these shows keep in mind that they have different seasons and episodes. A season is the year like the first year it was on is season 1. Then it has the different episodes that played during that year. So the first show is season 1 episode 1. This is how you keep track of them to watch them in order. It is also abbreviated as s1, e1.

So watch the first show on Banacek and see if you like it. If you do not like it, then do not watch any more of them. If you like it then watch the next episode and see if you like that one. Keep in mind that when these shows came out, you would have to wait a whole week before watching the next episode.

You can watch a years worth of TV shows in a couple of days. make sure to not get caught up in these that you miss something important that you need to do. Of course each person has the free will to determine what is important to them and what to spend their time doing. At least this activity will not cost you anything. Below is a video of some of the "wise" things that Banacek would say.

Since the Banacek TV shows were 2 hours long and these videos are an hour and 36 minutes, that means that I had to watch 24 minutes in commercials when watching it that you will not have to watch. But these give you a chance to do something quickly and not miss anything. But with this, you can start and stop it at anytime.

Another great TV series to check out on Youtube is Joan of Arcadia with Amber Tamblyn. The quality of this is not as good as Banacek but this series was very unique and popular. Joan is in high school and God comes to her and talks to her. God can appear in any human form God wants to that makes the show more interesting. There is a lot of good acting.

They found that some that believe in God loved and did not like this show. Then there were atheists that did not like this show and some that loved it. It definitely gets you to question a lot of things in life on a deeper level. Below is one of my favorite scenes from this series.

If you want to watch a TV series like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, you will not find that on Youtube. You have to pay to watch it. But supposedly Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its star Sarah Michelle Gellar saved an entire TV network. I saw all the episodes on TV but I feel that it is not nearly as good as Joan of Arcadia.

Please at least watch the first 20 minutes of the first episode of Joan of Arcadia. They have the full episodes on Youtube but here are the first 20 minutes in 2 - 10 minute segments. At the end of the first segment there is a handsome boy around the same age as Joan and they smile at each other on the bus. They do not know each other. They get off the bus at school and say hello. Joan introduces herself and he talks but does not introduce himself. She says "This is the part where you say your name."

The Best Part of This Article

He does not answer this and says "let's walk this way." She says "No" since that is the direction away from school. In the next 10 minutes he says some things that sound weird to her and she tells him that her father is the chief of police. Now this part is so great. He says that he knows all about her and gives her a quick history of her parents and her life, telling her what her favorite color is and that she is afraid of clowns. So she says to him "Who are you?" He says "I've known you since before you were born."

She says "I will ask you again." Before she can finish the sentence, the boy says "I am God!" So she says "You're what?" He says "I'm God!" She says in a firm tone "Don't ever talk to me ever again." She walks away very upset and goes to class. Only Joan can see Him unless He wants others to see Him. She sees him standing outside of her class through the window.

After class she sees him outside and she has calmed down. She says to Him "Hey God. Get lost. I mean it." They talk more and she finds this strange guy to be likable. So now she is amused and talks to Him like this is a fun game of Him saying that He is God. She is walking away and He says something like "Will you believe me if I overlook the promise you made Me. You told Me that if I let your brother live after the accident you will study hard, stop talking back, clean your room and go to church." She asks how He knows about that while walking right up to him so she is right in front of him like inches away.

Now He starts walking away and she is following Him. Another thing to keep in mind with these videos is usually the next one to follow it will be the one on the screen at the end in the upper left hand corner. So the she believes Him. He says that He will give her assignments and He wants her to get a job at a certain bookstore. Of course all of these assignments are to help her and her family.
