The Hustle
Over the years, Gucci Mane has hustled himself to the forefront of rap contending with the greatest rappers of today. Thanks to his consistent grind and realness, Gucci Mane has earned himself a street cred unmatched by any other rappers out today, except maybe for 50 Cent. He has built himself a very dedicated street fan-base with his hood mentality and catchy rhymes.
He's sold tons of records and dropped many albums independently before any record label was even thinking about signing him. Although he's been in and out of jail continuously, his fans were always waiting for his return for that new fix of music. While he was locked up, his countless mixtapes earned him a buzz unrivaled by any at the time.
It took awhile for everyone to catch on but eventually everyone in the streets knew who Gucci Mane was. They might not know of any of his albums, but they sure had at least a couple of his classic mixtapes. Other artists have had successful mixtapes and dropped plenty of mixtapes, but none sparked a buzz as big as Gucci Mane. No one has dropped as many successful classic mixtapes as Gucci Mane has.
