Harmonica Song in Blue
Harmonica man playing his song,
way down on the Mississippi River,
Melody of the tunes heard in the night,
spirit of the blues sound giver.
His music carried on across the streets,
on a wind up high, it reigns,
Making the chords like a railroad train,
floats in the air, in fine refrains.
Soulful sounds fill all the darkness,
with the singing of a blues bred score,
Warming notes heard down through the lane,
begging us each to want more.
The Honky tonk trip on the country road,
can wait till just a little bit later,
Enjoying the music of the harmonica man,
nothing could be any greater.
Silver moon hanging up in the sky,
cool wind, moves shadows of the trees,
A rolling harmony of frogs and wild birds,
all chattering along in the breeze.
A song in blue to find welcoming ears,
gives a symphony that we want to hear,
Releases thoughts, all cares, things we share,
all are held inside, and are dear.
Blues man blowing up a gale tonight,
and to all the world, his message is heard,
Brings a peace to us, in the deepening hour,
is shared to the night, without a word.
Blues spirit flies across the skies,
in a search, it sends its beckoning tone,
It finds a rest, in a place of the best,
a house down in New Orleans, all alone.
