Harry Potter Double Feature: The Deathly Hallows Part 1 & 2

DVD box set of parts 1 and 2 of Harry Potter Deathly Hallows. Good films overall, however, I felt key story points were not discussed and left me with questions as the viewer. Great special effects and, as always, the acting was on-point.

Just got back from a late showing of the first installment of the Harry Potter finale. My friend and I had a Harry Potter DVD night last night to catch me up because I thought I'd missed 5th and 6th but as it turns out, I'd only missed the 5th but it was still a good little H.Potter marathon there to get me all set for tonight.

The director of this one, and I found this with the 6th also, missed out some key factors... like how did Drako's dad get out of Azkeban? He was just there and that was that, which for someone who hasn't read the books, well it was rather confusing! Thankfully I have a friend that filled me in on that little detail, but none the less, I really don't like inconsistancy in movies. I understand they can't fit everything in from the books but things like that are important for carrying the story along...

Bar that little detail - all in all it was a good movie! The acting was very good as with the rest of the movies and the effects were great. There were sad bits, jumpy bits and aww cute moments. I'd say had something for most tastes in there.

Great supporting cast, they had all the humour in all the right places with so many lovable characters on the go. The Weasley Family are by far my favourites though! I just love the twins - they are such a great comedy double act and Ron is brilliant too! He is too cute for words in this movie and the actor certainly does the character justice!

Helena Bone Carter gives yet another stunning performance as the more than slighty unhinged Bellatrix. She is an excellent actress and really brings the insanity to the film in such an entertaining way.

And as for our much loved trio, Harry, Hermione and Ron - well, they're on form as always and the actors have great on-screen chemistry to really deliver their bond.

I'd give it a thumbs up over all and a 4.5/5
