Heitor Villa-Lobos (1887-1959) was a Brazilian composer who wrote extensively for the classical guitar. What makes Villa-Lobos' music unique is that it blends elements of the European Classical tradition with traditional Brazilian music. His 5 Preludes for classical guitar are among the most famous pieces in 20th century guitar repertoire.
