How to Successfully Kick a Christmas Sweater Addiction
Back Away From the Santa Applique Sweater
Yes, you! Back away, and then turn and run! That sweater is not going to make anyone happy. It is just going to make them cringe, yes cringe. Don't be fooled by all the complements you get at the Christmas party, they are just being polite, trust me. You are the conversation piece, not the sweater. Please don't tell them how long you have had the sweater either, that will only make it worse.

Some Think It's Fashionable
Sorry if I offend anyone but...the tacky Christmas sweater no matter who made it (be it couture or whatever) is not fashionable. I saw a lady the other day head to toe in red and white with Santa appliques all over. She proudly sauntered around with her perfectly coifed black hair. I know for a fact that people told her how nice her sweater was. I walked away because my facial expressions will sometimes give me away and I didn't want to burst out laughing.
Tacky Christmas Sweater Parties
Yes, if you don't believe me. People hold actual Tacky Christmas Sweater Parties. All over North America and who knows where else people are making fun of your sweater. Maybe you might call it a jumper, pullover, sweatshirt, jersey, or guernsey. Whatever, they are still not fashionable. Fun, funny, cute, (on babies and little children) but not for adults.
How to Kick the Habit
My advice is to never don one unless you are going to a theme party, or dressing up like one of Santa's helpers. I'm not saying throw it away. Just refrain from wearing it other than the occasions I just described. Surely though I know a lot of people don't care about what they wear and that is fine. I like a good laugh as much as the next person. I could also call Clinton Kelly and Stacy London and see what they have to say.
To all who wear your lovely Christmas sweaters. I love you all and you make the Christmas Season or Holiday Season or whatever it is PC to call it these days, much more merrier.

I didn't want to disappoint so I added some of my personal faves that I found. I totally dig the kitty cat one...saw a lady wearing that one in Walmart the other day with green tights and red cowboy boots. So if you must, please feel free to choose one.
