I Never Will Forget

I Never Will Forget

I wrote this for a high school friend. Her son is getting married and she wanted something special for their mother/son dance. She sent me an email with several short stories about him as he grew up. I incorporated several of them into the lyrics. Once it is recorded, I will send her several packaged cds.

I Never Will Forget
by Chuck RitenouR

Verse one:
Do you remember, I never will forget
please let me jog your memory just a little bit
at two years old, son you put us on the spot
when you started our car and backed out of the parking lot
and that's as frightening as a mother's life can get
do you remember, I never will forget.

Verse two:
Do you remember, I never will forget
please let me jog your memory just a little bit
singing with the radio swinging on your swing
son you know, I still love to hear you sing
listening to you sing "Honey" is as sweet as a mother's life can get
do you remember, I never will forget.

Bridge:
a mother's love will last from the cradle and beyond the grave.
a mother's heart is filled with all the memories she has saved.
and as your mother watches you kiss your lovely bride
seeing the man you've become fills her heart with humble pride
and that's as proud as a mother's heart can get
and a mother's heart never will forget.

Verse three:
I pray you remember, and never will forget
that someday you may need to jog my memory just a little bit
and as you and your bride travel life's winding road
I pray that someday the Lord gives you a son of your own
and that would be as grand as a mother's life can get
son please remember, I never will forget.

the end
