Jackie Evancho Superstar Opera Singer!
Jackie Evancho
The old term, "Good things come in small packages," is indeed true, especially with the vocal sensation of 10-year old Jackie Evancho from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Her performance on the U.S.A. show America's Got Talent hosted by Universal NBC the night of August 10, 2010, was simply spectacular! She sounded like a 30-year old woman singing classical opera. Her real name is Jacqueline Marie "Jackie" Evancho. Evancho performed O Mio Babbino Caro by Giacomo Puccini and was awarded a standing ovation and a free trip to University Studios Orlando Florida.
Her debut album called Prelude to a Dream was released on November 1, 2009 and features songs such as Andrea Bocelli's "Con Te Partiro" and "The Prayer", Josh Groban's "To Where You Are", Martina McBride's "Concrete Angel", and a cover of "Amazing Grace". The song she performed on America's Got Talent is also on her debut album.
With an amazing career ahead of her, Jackie Evancho, in my opinion, is the next Sarah Brightman. Now I need to go find a copy of her wonderful CD. Cheers to a young 10-year old girl with a kind and sweet personality and an amazing voice!
