A big event in jazz music, Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival (JJF) has taken place again  from 4 until 6 of March 2011 at Jakarta International Expo, Kemayoran.

Sponsored by one of cellular providers, this time the jazz festival take the tagline “Remarkable Indonesia, Harmony Under One Nation”. The tagline implies that through jazz people of various races, ethnic groups, countries, backgrounds, cultures, religions and political views, all gather united by jazz. The festival has taken place 7 times so far and gained acknowledgement as one of best and largest jazz festivals in the world considering that Indonesia is located far away from the country where jazz music originated, USA, in term of the number of musicians which is more than 1500 taking part in the event, the number of audience coming to see the shows, and the quality of management and committee in organizing the event.

There were around 40 international jazz performers from other countries and 1500 Indonesian jazz musicians embellish the festivity this year and that was much bigger than the 6th JJF in 2010 in which 1300 musicians participated and that broke the world’s jazz event ever held.
