Jennifer Ellison - actress and model

Jennifer Ellison is a Celebrity name that any person would know. She is a 29 year old actress, model, singer and dancer, and was born in Liverpool, England. Besides being a famous Bikini Model and glamor model, she is also known for having some acting roles in TV to her credit. She played Emily Shadwick in Channel Four's soap "Brookside" before her natural good looks won the attention of the glamor and fashion world and a career in modelling followed. She has appeared in most of the world’s men magazines, and has been included in the Official "100 sexiest women in the world" List. But what makes Jenny the "Ideal Girl" it is because she is a really down to earth regular gal with whom most of us would like to hang out with, or maybe a drink with. Happily married and now a Mother, one has to ask how does she manage to pack so much into a life for somebody so young?

Born on May 30th, in 1983, Jenny started along the road to fame as a dancer, and studied in Merseyside and trained to be a fully professional ballet and modern dancer, winning several dancing awards. But nature sometimes has a way of doing things, and she had to give up a life in Ballet, due to her large "top size". Jenny is blessed with good looks, a fine figure, and has turned this to her advantage, having turned successfully to acting, glamor and music. It was clear that her beauty and good looks signaled a career as a model. She appeared in theater in Chicago, which she then toured with, and Boeing, Boeing a comedy where she stole scenes playing an air stewardess. She also played “Beth” in Jeff Wayne’s musical masterpiece “War of the Worlds”. (And now featuring on some of the new versions of the re-released double album.) It seems her talents for dance and music have meant she would follow a career in Entertainment. TV is a natural media for her to showcase her abilities. She is is a typical celebrity face, and being beautiful naturally helps!

Her talent as a singer was evident when she scored in the Top 10 (No. 6) in the UK charts with "Baby I don’t care", a well known Transvision Vamp single. Top of the Pops viewers were treated to memorable performances in catsuits. She had another hit single "Bye Bye Boy", a cover of a Japanese hit single. She is now in the process of breaking into movies, having made The Cottage, a British horror flick, and as Meg Giry in the film Phantom of the Opera. All this while going on to star in Gordon Ramsay’s TV show Hell’s Kitchen and WINNING! (Yes Charlie Sheen that is real winning!) Jennifer also was a judge on Dirty Dancing – the Time of your Life. She has released an exercise video called West End Workout. All the while, Jennifer has constantly modeled in the UK and all over the world for many magazines. So trying to avoid photos of Jenny posing in some great outfit or Bikini is pretty difficult!

In early February this year she suffered a bad blow to the head when - during a dance routine on "Dancing on Ice" on TV, she performed a scorpion kick. The heel of her ice skate caught her in the back of her head, and she was brave enough to finish her routine, despite blood dripping down her hair. She received first aid and medical attention immediately and she later recovered, though she did leave the show afterwards.

So what drives her to do things and constantly push herself? What is her secret? It seems to be focus, and dedication to what she is working on at any time; a great fun personality and genuine talent also seem to be part of her formula. The fact that she is almost a National Treasure in the UK, and is hugely loved by the public naturally helps. In private she is just that, a private person, happily married and now the happy mother of a new baby.

She is a woman who has proved that – yes, you can chase after a dream and find success in many areas, and enjoy all the trappings of success without letting it all go to your head. (No pun intended!)

This photo is of Jennifer during the Brookside days when she was appearing on TV and garnering many adoring fans! I think every place in the world has its own version of Jenny somewhere. To us, she is a typical Brit Girl who is loved by the public and the media. I hope to add more to her growing list of achievements as this hub grows.
