Something in My Kitchen
This is Chef. He has been with me for a while. He was one of the first purchases I made after my divorce almost seven years ago. To me he represents a new start.
During my first marriage, I didn’t often have a say in how the house was decorated. I could choose the colors for the walls as long as I did the work. Anything else I picked out was often ridiculed. My ideas and thoughts about how to decorate was not appreciated or encouraged. I was always told that the idea was stupid and ugly – just like me.
When I moved out to my first ever house on my own, I had fun going to different home stores to get the decorations that I wanted. At one store, I found Chef. I fell in love with him immediately. He was just too adorable. As I looked around I found a kitchen full of things to match. I now have towels, pictures, a menu board and many other items that Chef helped me to find. But the most important thing Chef helped to find was my independence. I am pretty sure that Chef will be with me for many more years to come!
