MiniHub - The world's not such a scary place after all

Aww, he thinks he's people.
Aww, he thinks he's people.

Over the last few years, things have looked bleak. The world's on it's way to become bankrupt. Teen Pregnancies are everywhere. The world is slowly being torn apart by war, and if we don't slow down our immense growth, we'll run out of oil, then we really will be in trouble.

In fact, every single day when the News comes on, they almost shriek in terror at how we are doomed, and how at the touch of a button our lives could be over. Yet we have no control over it. It's no wonder rates of depression are on the rise. But, is it so bad?

Modern medicine is helping us live longer than ever before, and more comfortably too. We're better off than we have ever been before too, money wise. Back in the great depression people had to eat roadkill, and work for pennies. Now the average salary in England is £20,000. In America it's $25,000. If you really are bad off too, there are a million ways you can save money. Trade your car for a bike, downsize your car, etc.)

America is slowly pulling out of the Middle-East, and financially (If you live in England etc), you're pretty well off. We'll miss the mark, yeah. But not as much as the rest of the world.
As for oil, every single day new advancements are made to change the fuels we use. Infact, we're closing in on Hydrogen power, then we won't have to use oil as much as we have been.

Also, Teenage pregnancy rates are down. As are road-deaths. Infact we're better off now than we ever have been in every way, shape and form!

So the next time you look at the news in despair, remember that the media is so hyped up, only the very worst things are ever shown. For every shocking story, there are a hundred stories that will bring a little light to your day, like the White Tiger hugging a man. The world isn't such a dark, scary place after all.
