My Favoite Enya Songs-New Age Music-Relax-Sit back and enjoy~Sooth yourself
Book of Days
Enya is an Irish woman
I first heard of Enya, from my old friend who had their Caribbean Blue album. I liked that song particularly- Caribbean Blue- it's one of their best. The music is relaxing, but so beautiful and soothing, it's hard to describe and I guess you either love it or you don't!
Later on I was in a relaxation group and the entire group we listened to Enya's best hits~I think it was Paint the Sky with Stars. I believe this is their best album ever! Practically every song on it is just gorgeous in all different ways.
Enya was born Eithne Patricia Ní Bhraonáin on May 17, 1961. She is Irish and composes music and playes instruments. Wow! And of course, she sings. I used to think Enya was a group but I was wrong, it's a woman! Man does she put some beautiful stuff.
Enya began her musical career in 1980; she joined her family's band Clannad, then left to perform solo. In 1988 her album Watermark sent her toward increased international fame and she became known for her unique sound, characterised by voice-layering, folk melodies, synthesised backdrops and ethereal reverberations.
Enya continued to de well in the 1990s and 2000s; her 2000 album A Day Without Rain sold 15 million copies and she was named the world's best selling female artist of 2001. She is Ireland's best-selling solo musician and is second best after the band U2. She has sold 70 million albums as of 2009,with over 26 million in album sales in the US. Her work has earned her, among other things, four Grammy awards and an Academy Award nomination. She has performed in 10 languages during her career thus far.
What an amazing artist, and we still don't know much about her, who she is, how she became so talented, how she can "do it all"!
