Bad Girl Dreams: My Favorite Sexy Actors
Like that old song says, "Yummy yummy yummy want some Depp in my tummy!" Well, maybe those aren't really the words, but close enough, right? Like who wouldn't just eat this man up!?!
He has been around for quite some time. Honestly as long as I can remember. My mom says I used to watch him in 21 Jump Street from my crib! :-) It wouldn't surprise me much but I think maybe my mom had her eye on him too!
Jeez! I am glad this thing has spell checking. Who knew there were two r's in "surprise"!?! LOL!
Anyway, Johnny Depp is, as my mom used to say, just dreamy. And even better he keeps getting hotter and hotter the older he gets. I am not really ranking these guys in numerical order, but I do think Johnny Depp should get the #1 spot. So consider this the top of the list then after this it get mostly random, though I will probably put the absolutely hottest guys first with more pics and cut the not as hot guys back a little.
Does that make sense? I ramble sometime. :-)
I have heard Johnny Depp is going to be in a vampire movie based on the old TV show Dark Shadows and in some new Wizard of Oz movie but I am most excited to see the new Captain Jack movie. That is my favorite character he does and the most awesome movie series ever! I am sure I will probably see everything he is in eventually but I hope he sticks mostly to new stories because I do not really like when they redo the old ones.
So there you have my first choice. I think it is a great one and I know a lot of people will agree. Maybe I will try to pick some surprises (two r's LOL!) for some of my other choices.
Okay, I admit my second guy isn't all that surprising either, but I have a thing for guys who look good wet and Matthew is probably the #1 guy on that list. I wonder what Johnny Depp looks like all drippy and hot? I don't ever remember seeing him that way. But anyway, Matthew McConaughey definitely fits the bill!
The first movie I remember seeing him in was called Frailty that me and a friend "borrowed" from her mom and dad's stack of rental movies because they thought we might be too young to watch. It is still one of my favorite flicks!
Since then I have seen a bunch of both his newer and older movies and must admit I really like the ones where he spends a lot of time shirtless and/or wet! LOL! Fool's Gold anyone?
Another actor I like but didn't put on the list is Josh Lucas. He reminds me a lot of Matthew McConaughey and sometimes they are hard to tell apart. But he keeps his shirt on way too much! LOL! Just kidding. I just had to draw a line somewhere.
So what have we learned so far?
- Johnny Depp is hotter than Matthew McConaughey.
- There are two r's in "surprise".
- Josh Lucas is not unique enough to make the cut.
- Dancing naked is cool but can get you in trouble.
I don't know if Matthew really has anything else to teach us, but he sure is fun to look at. He doesn't really have any upcoming movies I am excited about but he tends to surprise me.
What is with "surprise"? I swear to God I do not usually say "surprise" that often! LOL!
Kirk Douglas was my mom's favorite actor so maybe that is where I got my admiration for Michael Douglas. All I know is he is one sexy man! LOL! Sort of how Matthew McConaughey looks good wet, there is no one that looks better in a suit that Michael Douglas. Well, unless it is Tommy Lee Jones or maybe my dad. :-)
The first movie I remember seeing Mr. Douglas in (I do not think I should be allowed to call him Michael) was either Falling Down or The American President . I loved them both and have loved most everything he has done since.
I have to admit I have not done my duty as a fan and caught up on his old movies yet, but maybe I will get a chance to have an "old Michael Douglas film" weekend soon. But truth be told, I find him sexier now than he has ever been before.
Mr. Douglas also has one of the most beautiful women ever as a wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones. I guess that is only fair since he is such a good looking man after all. For all you trivia buffs, she is exactly 25 years younger than him. Maybe Catherine is a bit of a "daddy's girl" herself! But again, who could blame her?
Mr. Douglas recently did battle with throat cancer but appears to have won at least for now. I hope he stays healthy so he can bring us more great movies.
The second Wall Street movie just came out but I probably will not see it until the DVD is out. He is also playing Liberace in a new movie which should be a real hoot. And yes, I said "Hoot". I am from Texas, y'all!
Oh, and he looks pretty darn good when wet, too! ;-)
Samuel L. Jackson
Samuel L. Jackson is a great looking guy, but what really got him onto this list is the way he carries himself. He is always confident, strong and decisive with a take charge attitude and yet always seems to be in good spirits and ready to help those in need. In other words, he is the perfect father figure!
Really though, what more could you ask for in a man or in an actor? I had seen Mr. Jackson in many movies before, but the first film I saw him in at a theater was Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace . He was bigger than life and literally took my breath away. For days I could think of nothing else but my new favorite Jedi.
Other films followed and I never missed a chance to catch him on the big screen. Shaft , Unbreakable and Changing Lanes . Then came another Star Wars movie, Episode II - Attack of the Clones , followed by more great films including his third Star Wars movie, all leading up to his best film ever, Black Snake Moan .
Oh God, is Christina Ricci a lucky girl in that film, though personally I would have rather seen a more intimate relationship develop. I mean, how could Rae not fall in love with Lazarus?!? The movie definitely did not play out the way I would prefer! Still... sigh! swoon!
I still go to see every Samuel L. Jackson movie I can on the big screen. Right now I am most excited about the upcoming films The Avengers and Nick Fury . Yes, I am a little bit of a comic book geek, schooled on my daddy's mostly Marvel comics collection from the early 1960s through the late 1980s, but not so much that I mind them portraying Nick Fury as a black man. I cannot think of any actor I would rather see in the part than sexy Mr. Jackson!
A Word About a Film
This film is about a white girl who comes to find herself living chained up in an old black man's house. It was very controversial but in the end was very sweet and full of messages about redemption, forgiveness and, most of all, hope and faith.
Black Snake Moan is one of my all-time favorite movies and I can guarantee that if I were in Rae's shoes (or perhaps I should say in Rae's panties since I am pretty sure she was barefoot) you can bet I would have been more than happy to make that black snake moan and moan and moan all night long.
If you haven't seen this movie yet, be sure to watch as soon as possible! You will not be disappointed!
Orlando is probably the youngest man on my list (I didn't really check so I cannot say for sure) and also one of the most handsome. I guess it will be pretty obvious after I do this list that I like older guys, but Orlando is the exception. He is more like an older brother than most of the guys I chose for my hub.
I really noticed him for the first time in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies though he definitely had to fight his way out of Johnny Depp's shadow. I had seen him in the Lord of the Rings films but didn't really pay much attention to him with that silly blond hair and those ridiculous elf ears.
I always thought Elizabeth Swann had to be about the luckiest girl in movieland stuck between Jack Sparrow and Will Turner. I mean, like why make a choice? Can't a girl have both? ;-) I know I would have never been able to decide, but if I absolutely had to, I would have chosen Jack. Silly poppet!
I hate to admit it, but I really do not know what other movies Orlando has been in. I think I saw him in something with Kirsten Dunst, Maybe if I am going to write these hubs I should start researching these things. LOL!
I wish he and Keira Knightley were going to be in the new Pirates movie but I guess I will have to settle for just Johnny Depp. I have heard this one will have a really great story, but as long as it has Johnny Depp, I'm good with it.
Orlando does have a couple of good movies coming up. The Good Doctor , a drama/thriller about a slightly demented physician, and The Three Musketeers , which you can probably guess the subject of, both look like they should be interesting. And even if they are not, at least we get to ogle Orlando for an hour and a half or more! ;-)
The best word to use to describe Jude Law probably is "scrumptious". Like Orlando Bloom, he is a bit younger than most of my choices but has the good looks to sweep a girl off her feet regardless of her usual standards. I especially love his eyes -- so deep and full of emotion!
The first thing I saw him in was A.I. - Artificial Intelligence which I am almost ashamed to admit made me cry. :-( His character, Gigolo Joe, was one of the best parts of the film. It's a movie that I think is generally very underrated.
After that I saw him in many other great films -- The Holiday , Alfie , My Blueberry Nights , Repo Men ... It is really hard with his films to pick a favorite, though I do especially enjoy him in Wilde . But maybe that is just because of me and my weirdo fantasies. Me, Jude and Stephen Fry... LOL!
I also really liked him and Robert Downey, Jr. in Sherlock Holmes . I can't wait for the sequel that is supposed to be out later this year. He is also going to be in a film called Contagion that sounds good but I have to admit I am not crazy about the rest of the cast. I mean, Matt Damon? Come on! What does anyone see in him? And I don't really like Kate Winslet or Gwyneth Paltrow. But I will still try to check it out if Jude is in it.
Well this about does it for my biggest favorites, but I have plenty of second stringers so I will tell you about some of them below. Some others that I like but will not go into details about are George Clooney, Robert Downey, Jr., Nicolas Cage, Brad Pitt, Keanu Reeves, Viggo Mortensen, Sam Neil, Harrison Ford, Bill Paxton and Billy Bob Thornton.
I could really go on and on about most of them, but I am not sure how long these hubs should be or how long you guys will keep reading my ramblings! LOL! I love reading other people's hubs so I hope you will also enjoy mine. I think everyday people are much better judges of what's hot and what's not, don't you?
I can remember my daddy watching Clint Eastwood movies from the time I was a little girl. I would spend the afternoon curled up next to him (my daddy, not Clint LOL!) with my head in his lap watching one movie after another. Dirty Harry, Play Misty for Me, High Plains Drifter, Outlaw Josey Wales... Jeez! Has anyone else made so many classic films?!?
It was funny because I could always tell the action sequences excited Daddy by the way he tensed up and when I got older I would tease him about his "thing" for Clint Eastwood. He would take the ribbing with a tolerant smile, but I don't think he has ever figured out what the joke was. Ironically, I guess now I'm the one with a thing for Mr. Eastwood! ;-)
Pierce Brosnan was the ultimate James Bond and, though he only made four Bond films, they were all outstanding. It was these films that introduced me to him though my favorite of his films ultimately became Lawnmower Man.He has a movie coming out this year called St. Vincent about a hitman that looks pretty good.
Recently I have gotten hooked on the Remington Steele series thanks to daddy buying me the whole series though I think maybe he is jealous of Mr. Brosnan. LOL! He probably figures at least it keeps me home a bit more than usual and better to be jealous of an actor than some real life Romeo.
Morgan Freeman is not only a hottie but also one of the greatest actors ever. One of my favorite movies, even though I do not like westerns for the most part, is Unforgiven. Mr. Freeman stars with Clint Eastwood and Gene Hackman. WOW! The movie could be about three guys watching a tree grow out in the middle of nowhere and it would still probably be a classic.
I also think Morgan Freeman is the perfect choice for an actor to play the President. He has done that, but I guess that should be no surprise (still has two r's LOL!) since he has even played God -- twice! And Nelson Mandela! Daddy rented Red this afternoon so hopefully I will get to see that a little later. :-)
One day when I was about fourteen, my daddy brought home three videos -- Shakedown, Roadhouse and Rush. He told me he was going to show me what great acting was and then he introduced me to Sam Elliott. We were going to see The Hulk in a few days and he wanted me to know who Mr. Elliott was since he was playing General "Thunderbolt" Ross, one of my favorite characters from the comic. I was blown away.
Since then I have been a die hard Sam Elliott fan and cannot get enough, especially when he has his hair long. I love his voice, too. And it is super neat when he pops up in a supporting role like in Ghost Rider or Did You Hear About the Morgans?
Dennis Farina looks like he could be a mob hitman, but really he just played one in the movies. LOL! He also played a mafia don, a coach, and a cop on Law and Order as well as in numerous films. Ironically (or is it coincidentally -- I'm never really sure), he was actually a cop in real life. he spent 19 years on the Chicago police force before becoming an actor.
I couldn't begin to tell you what I first saw him in, but one day I just realized I had a bit of a crush on him. He kind of reminds me of my daddy, too. Coincidentally (I'm pretty sure there is nothing particularly ironic about this part), my daddy was also a lawman for over thirty years. But my daddy has never been much of an actor. ;-)
Donald Sutherland has been acting for more than 50 years and has quite a resumé to show for it. He has starred in over 150 shows and films and has added something special to each and every one. Whether playing a lead role or just a supporting character, Mr. Sutherland has made every appearance a memorable one.
You might think that at 75 years of age Mr. Sutherland would be thinking about slowing down, but instead he has a half dozen projects coming out this year. On top of his acting talent, astounding work ethic and sexy good looks, he is also known for being the father of not-quite-as-sexy-but-still-no-slouch Kiefer Sutherland.
Tommy Lee Jones
My final sexy, handsome actor is my fellow native Texan, Tommy Lee Jones. Now Mr. Jones is not just an actor, he is a real man who has worked on oil rigs, knows what it means to be a cowboy and has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature from Harvard, which he attended on a scholarship and graduated cum laude from in 1969. If he had never appeared on a single frame of film, he would still be an impressive man.
He has had tons of great roles, but right now I am looking forward to his role in Captain America: The First Avenger and, of course, Men in Black III. One of his best films is In the Electric Mist, so be sure to check it out if you haven't seen it!
