My Government Allow the 2012 Movie, After a long Wait

2012 become box office and as a phenomenon. 2012 is United States movie as a science fiction disasters. This movie was released on 13 November 2009, directed by Roland Emmerich. He also directed INDEPENDENCE DAY and THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW movie. With the actress and the actor like John Cusack, Amanda Peet, and Danny Glover. This movie was distributed by Columbia Pictures and began shooting in Vancouver in August 2008.The original of 2012 movie would released on July 2009, but it changed to November 2009 to avoided the crowded of summer schedule and gain the financial success.

This movie tell about the people began panic due a series of natural disaster that bring the world to the big destruction. Start from meteor shower, volcanic eruptions, until the tsunami waves that swallowed the Himalayas. This is based on the prediction by the Mayans calendar.

I live in Indonesia. The beautiful country with friendly people. As the plan the 2012 will launched in cinema. My city wait the screening of this movie. I've waited for a long time since this film was made. and my family are planning to watch the movies. But but my plans end in the middle of the road. After I heard about the news that my government will stopped the 2012 movie. I really shock, why this could happen.

There are pros and cons about the screening of this movie. Many people sad after heard this news, especially movie watcher or movie lovers. They also wait for a long time, so they can see it in theaters. But many people also agree if this film was stopped. Why?

Most of people in my country as a Moslem. In my religion "the end of the world" can't predicted, such as human predictions. It contradict with the Islamic rule. In this movie The BIG disaster or  the end of the world was certain to happen on the December 21, 2012. And my government afraid this movie will influence to many people in Indonesia. And the effect after see this movie is they will afraid and think that the world will really end on 2012. Regarding when the Day of Resurrection is the power of the GOD. So we can't predicted the day or the year this incident will happen in this earth.

As a Muslim I still appreciate to my government. I know maybe they want the best for the Indonesian people. But I haven't seen this movie at all. Actually from this movie I like the special effect. As we know the disaster movie like Independence Day and The Day After Tomorrow contain great special effect. For me as individual person, still give appreciation to this movie. I see this only a movie. And nothing wrong behind this. As a Muslim I still hold my religion that the end of the world wouldn't happen on December 21, 2012.

We get the benefit by see this movie. Such as, we can increase our spirituality, closer to the GOD (all the religion), help each other, always have positive thinking, the importance of the people, and give priority to humanitarian.

I hope my government will considered their opinion. So, I can see this movie again in the theater.

This is become pros and cons because the opinion of Muslim leader submitted to the government. But actually my government has not held a press conference. And give statement. But many Muslim leader give their statement on public. And they comes from a trusted institution. And they are representative of the government, they called MUI.
