My Immortal

"What we have done for ourselves alone
dies with us; what we have done for others
and the world remains and is immortal."

As I watch this video,
I cannot help but think how many tortured souls
share the same sense of helplessness and
vulnerability, as Amy Lee portrays.
The Video “My Immortal " delves
into the grieving process.
The loss of being as one,
the loss of feeling secure,
the loss of living fulfilled
ultimately leaves us as if we have been exposed, left naked up a tree for all of those to see.
So goes the nation and its
relationship with its fellow Americans.
We have no choice but to look to our "so called" leaders for guidance and hope. What we discover is, as we peel away the onion, it gets more rotten with each layer revealed.
The result is people stop peeling away the onion skin. We're a nation of people that does best, that has flourished, by peeling away the onion skin. So,let's get another onion.
”I‘d like to acknowledge, actually I'd like to thank, the Bush administration for allowing
me to see the gravity of this quote.
The damage this administration has
inflicted upon its people, appears to be immortal.
To paraphrase the message
of the band Evanescence,
"your presence still lingers here
and it won’t leave me alone,
these wounds won’t seem to heal,
this pain is just too real,
there’s just too much that time cannot erase"
"…and though you’re still with me
I’ve been alone all along."
As I watch my favorite video,
I cannot help but think
how many of my fellow Americans share
the same sense of helplessness,
vulnerability, and exposure.
The feeling of being alone,
The feeling of insecurity, The feeling of abandonment should
not be what dies with us.
Take a page from our leaders in D.C.
As always, it has been the People that lift our great nation from the throws of being
“suppressed by all our childish fears,
so if you have to leave,
I wish that you would just leave.
