My Four Favorite Musicals: Hair, Les Miserables, Across the Universe and Mamma Mia!
I haven't seen any of these musicals in my life but I have heard of them and I have heard the songs and they are really great musicals. The musical I have seen is Grease in movie form. I someday wish I could see Hair and Les Miserables.
I have heard the whole album of the original Broadway play, Hair that was first shown in 1969 but haven't had the chance to see the Broadway play or the 1970's movie version.
I have not seen Les Miserables either both the play musical and the movie version of it, would love to see the new movie version of Les Miserables, it looks really good. I have read the novel and the novel version is a really long book to read. I already heard the new soundtrack version of the new Les Miserables movie and I can say that the actors did an awesome job of performing the songs.
Another original musical movie that I have seen is "Across the Universe" were all the actors in the movie sing new Beatles cover songs of their music. I like the way the director, Julie Taymor was able to link some of the Beatles songs with what was happening in the movie. This movie also does an excellent job of illustrating how life was like in the 1960's during the Vietnam War era. It is a must-watch movie for anyone who loves the Beatles music.
