Netflix Instant: The Best Action & Adventures Available to Stream Instantly - January 2017
The Best Action & Adventure Movies Available for Instant Streaming on Netflix - 2017
Netflix is the ultimate movie/TV series online streaming service that provides thousands of movies and TV series for the pleasure of watching at the touch of your fingertips instantly whenever you do so desire.
The action and adventure genre is one that everyone enjoys simply because of all of the box office goodies that it provides (well, as a genre in general). And, Netflix is the one-stop place to find a few of these hit and run type movies.
The Movies - Top 10
Here are the top 10 greatest action and adventure movies that Netflix (instant streaming) has within their UK selection for viewing.
#10 - Transformers: Age of Extinction
Transformers: Age of Extinction sees the exit of Shia LaBeouf, the former lead for the Transformers franchise, and now the entering of Mark Wahlberg as the new lead in the movie. Some would say this is quite the major change for the franchise, and although Shia's humour was above all likeable, Wahlberg does have a certain take-charge appeal in the movie that makes him a nice entry as a lead.
Mark Wahlberg was a surprise from the offset throughout the movie, starting with his actual presence being a part of the franchise, and ending with the overall statement that the actor leaves behind. Wahlberg is a major Hollywood talent as an actor, as once again proven in this action and adventure movie, a movie that sees a heck of a lot of twists thrown into the mix in the latest instalment for the Transformers franchise.
The CGI as always for this Transformers instalment is unprecedented, as the latest transformers bots look like a whole new breed of killing machines, blended into the complicated cognitive lives of modern day human life.
#9 - Olympus Has Fallen
Ever wondered what it would be like if the Koreans were to ambush the Whitehouse and manage to form a siege on the place? Well, this movie has managed to offer some unusual action-packed insight into the potential for the situation (which could, of course, never happen).
Gerard Butler is a CIA agent on a mission to save the President of the United States whilst at the same time saving the Whitehouse from the Korean invaders. Butler is a shoe in for the character that he plays and never stops to breathe as he lays waist to all of the terrorists that stand in his way.
London Has Fallen (BONUS)
As with The Hunger Games movie listings, London Has Fallen is merely a bonus contender for this list (meaning that it has no place in the actual top 10 listings). London Has Fallen is a strong action and adventure movie which follows directly on from the first, Olympus Has Fallen (original movie instalment).
#8 - Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
Following on from Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes takes place many years later in a world where humans are struggling for survival, whilst the talking, intelligent apes live way out into the forrests.
Distanced from one another, the humans and apes soon cross paths and a war is waged to prevent one another from wrecking the other ones homes.
#7 - Iron Man 3
Iron Man 3 is another suited-up superhero movie starring Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man.
The movie this time around has shaken things up a bit with more of an investment put into CGI and special effects to create a larger story. The story involves terrorists who seek to use technology to wage world-altering damage, and standing in their way is Iron Man.
#6 - The Equalizer
Denzel Washington is back as a DIY salesman worker, and when his friend in the Russian prostitution ring is hurt he goes to settle a deal but instead winds up leaving a trail of dead bodies in his wake.
In goes without saying that Denzel Washington is no normal DIY worker, as he is in fact an ex-CIA operative who now lives a simpler life working at a DIY shop.
#5 - The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
Katniss Everdeen (played by Jennifer Lawrence) is back in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, the sequel to the first instalment of The Hunger Games.
Catching Fire offers an even bigger game for its contestants than the first, that is more dangerous, ruthless, and filled with more dangerous bad guys to keep an eye out for.
Catching Fire is also even more entertaining than the first as we see a heavier boot under the budget for the movie, enabling for a better CGI experience and all round show for audiences around the globe.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 (BONUS)
This list stays true to the best movies criteria, and although The Hunger Games: Mockingly - Part 2 was a contender it did not quite fit the bill for this top 10 list. However, in the good spirits of staying true to the franchise elements of the listings, such as with The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Mockingjay - Part 2 is a part of the franchise. So, we feel that it makes perfect sense to add it onto this list as a bonus contender, also adding that it does follow on from Catching Fire - only two instalments along, rather than the sequel to the movie.
#4 - Looper
In the future where time-travel exists there are hit-killers known as Loopers who bring people back from the future to kill them in the past.
An all-out action and adventure movie starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis.
#3 - World War Z
When a zombie pandemic occurs Brad Pitt and his family must flee the city, and soon find safety on an aircraft carrier out in the middle of the ocean. But, for Brad's family to stay on the boat he must leave to help find a cure for the zombie virus.
Brad Pitt leading in a zombie movie seems to be the biggest winner so far when it comes down to zombie flicks, as World War Z grossed worldwide box office sales of more than $540 million on a $190 million budget. Making World War Z the highest grossing zombie flick ever made.
#2 - The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies
In the third and final instalment for The Hobbit trilogy we see a battle-off between man, elves and dwarves vs an orc army.
#1 - X-Men: Days of Future Past
In the 21st Century there are killer machines known as Sentinels who zero in on mutants and destroy them. With such a threat posing the survival of mutants the Wolverine is sent back in time to alter events so that the Sentinels are never created. Thusly, the Sentinels cannot evolve into highly efficient mutant killing machines.
