Okay first off, the song is called Pandemic. It's a little joke within our group that we call it "pan de mic," it's a pun, it's great, get over it. Secondly the title had been used in another hub before so I had to get creative. Alrighty then! This song will always be the song that was written a couple of days before I officially joined the band. So it's the same age as me in the group and has special meaning. It has two special meanings actually. It was the song that commemorates my joining Oakvale and also the first and last song I write as a group. It's a terrible thing to try and come up with lyrics for a song and you have four minds tossing around ideas and I don't like most of them... ROUGH! I'm still not very satisfied with how the song came out but you'll always get... one of those.
Late to bed, early to rise,
the next day begins when I close my eyes.
Not enough rest, sleep deprived,
tomorrow will be my demise.
Tomorrow will be my demise!
Making my way towards the future, tired and in the cold,
this routine seems familiar, I'm the butt of the joke.
Years have come and gone, time has flown by,
doing what I've always done, I'm about to die.
They say that it prepares you, for the road ahead,
the challenges that face you, you've barely seen yet... kid!
Watch what you say and watch you do and...
pretend that you care to get them out of your hair.
Watch what you feel and watch what you think and...
pretend you don't see the demons we share!
Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! (cont'd)
When I went to school, they brought guns,
they didn't shoot lead, they shot fun.
I won't wish you luck, you don't need it,
life is a game, go out and beat it.
And if you're not careful, you'll get caught up in it, you'll look back and think what could have been, what you're life should have been...
Watch what you say and watch what you do and...
I Know! It's a Strange Song.
It was decided in the planning of how the song would go that the song would be about how a kid feels about going to school. It ended up becoming a little more deep and it could be compared to life as well. It's odd. That's about it. It's an alright tune that you can listen to it here if you're interested. Thanks for reading.
