Official 2009 Emmy Nomination Predictions

The nominees for the 2009 Emmy Awards will be announced on Thursday, July 16, early in the morning (8:35 EST). I've never written an article about predicting who I think will make the cut before, so this will be a first. In the past I've always been more familiar with guessing who might end up on the ballots for the Academy Awards and the Golden Globes.

But over the past few years, the Emmys have become much more interesting to me. It's harder to get a handle on what will happen because there is a lot of stuff out there on television. I mean, A LOT. And unlike films, where you can go see most of the movies in a theatre (give or take a few limited releases), you can't sit down and watch all of the most talked about shows. For instance, I don't have HBO, so I have no way of forming an established opinion on who deserves a nomination the most from that network. It's really just blind guessing, speculation and a lot of wishful thinking.

However, all that being said, I will attempt to correctly guess a few of the categories (31, to be exact). And my predictions read like so:
