Overcoming the Blues ( a blues song)

I hear those crying blues chords, those blues chords ringing in the night,

Three string guitar chords, strumming and screaming, out a story, just right.

About some po soul who's down and out, a railroad Bo his wayward route,

Makes you want to get down, follow that soulful sound, what blues is about.

refrain: Overcoming, I'm just trying to overcome those midnight coming blues,

Go to bed, get up the next day, seems like they just want to stay,

Don't know how I'm gonna find a way,

To overcome those eating-out-yo-heart, kinda blues.

How many stories have been told, about homeless souls out in the cold, of their life,

Maybe once they were high, then soon hit the bottom, down low, it cuts like a knife.

That magic pick singing in the night, ringing up music out of sight, about the blues,

You just have to live it all first hand, for you to understand, it's not just all old news.

refrain: Overcoming, I'm just trying to overcome those midnight coming blues,

Go to bed, get up the next day, seems like they just wants to stay.

Don't know how I'm gonna find a better way,

To overcome those eating-out-yo-heart kinda blues.

What does a husband say to his wife, means the most in his life, he's got the blues,

Done slipped away from home, all over the place to roam, living a lie, having the blues.

A lonesome mother with no income, broken home, left by some bum, a sad song to tell,

Kids have no clothes or food to eat, living on the street, lost their income, not living well.

refrain: Overcoming, just trying to overcome those midnight blues,

Go to bed, get up the next day, it seems like they just want to stay,

Don't know how I'm gonna find a better way,

To overcome those eating-out-yo-heart kinda blues.

walk a mile in their shoes...
walk a mile in their shoes...

Strum on guitar man. play yo song as long as you can, song coming home, about the blues,

As he fingers those crying chords, like walking a mile, he affords, someone else's shoes.

Night birds mimic each wild refrain, midnight hour, comes the whining train, we can't lose,

Barman turns lights down low, we know it's about time to go, come back later, if we chose.

Overcoming, Just trying to overcome those midnight coming blues.

Go to bed, get up the next day, it seems like they just want to stay.

Don't know how I'm gonna find a better way,

To overcome those eating-out-yo-heart kinda blues.
