The Stunning Landscape of Southern California

Taking pictures of the tranquil Southern California landscape is just one way that I like to express my love of nature, especially when I am up in the San Bernardino Mountains. Also, the Inland Valley has open spaces that can be quite picturesque. I have always enjoyed living in this part of the world with the San Bernardino Mountains for the four seasons and pine trees, and the Inland Valley with palm trees year round, and orange blossoms in spring. Southern California has a little bit of everything, and even if you do not plan on living here, looking at pictures can at least give you an idea about planning a future trip. I sort of miss when the economy was good and we used to have lots of tourists that came here. Tourism is good for our economy, so I always encourage anyone thinking of a trip to consider sunny Southern California for the scenery, and things to do such as Disneyland, China Town in LA, or shopping and the beach in San Diego. This is primarily a photo essay about the San Bernardino Mountains, which illustrates the beauty of this particular part of SoCal.

Taking nature walks around the San Bernardino Mountains is a relaxing way to capture photography, and to just enjoy the birds, the flowers, and the trees.

One of my favorite aspects of photographing the ducks at Grass Valley Lake was noticing how their eyes looked green in the photographs I took at night. Photography is a wonderful thing to share with those who enjoy the trees, and little creatures such as ducks. Below is a video I created of Grass Valley Lake on another day, but it will give you a feel for this lake that is more like a pond.

Wonderful Hub! I was virtually walking alongside the Grass Valley Lake and enjoyed ducks swimming and bathing in the pond-like lake. Thx. for video. As you rightly mentioned 'Taking nature walks around the San Bernardino Mountains is a relaxing way to capture photography, and to just enjoy the birds, the flowers, and the trees.', I am having the same feeling after reading this hub. I too love trees, birds, flowers, mountains and photographing nature. Many thanks to you for posting this hub.

Hello HubPages' Most Popular Hubber! :) These are beautiful! Every time I visit SoCal I consider moving from my NorCal bubble. The beaches are just amazing down there, I say! Hope all is well!

Hi Glassvisage,

You are so sweet. I think NoCal is pretty too, and you do have all the beautiful large trees and the Sierras. San Francisco is also amazing, and I have to get up there again some day. I hope you are doing good, too.

Hi my Sweetie Pie - I live in the San Jacinto Mountains ( doing a hub ) and in fact was part of those that had to evacuate 2 weeks ago because of the Idyllwild Fires.

I enjoyed your photos so much! When I was a young girl my family would take many trips to Arrowhead and Big Bear. I learned to ski at Snow Valley.

You have done an outstanding job of presenting some of the beautiful areas and the video was amazing. I walked right along with you :)

Voted up, useful, awesome and interesting and sharing. ~ Audrey

Glad you enjoyed this hub, vocalcoach. I have also been up to Idylwild, and it is quite beautiful there. Many nice camps for groups that do retreats. I would post more photo adventures here on hubpages, but I am migrating a lot of new stuff to my own website. Hubpages is deindexing too many of my articles these days, so I am moving certain things they do not seem to appreciate anymore. I am glad they still like this article.
