Equealla - spreading the word and a thumbs up will be enough for me. We need to keep music alive because the way things are going, music is dying - mainly down to free downloading.

Thanks my friend :)

K9Keystrokes... the life of a rock n roll star is a hard one! The road is rocky and the vans are dirty... but all the fun is in the journey! *toothpaste kisses*. Why are the maccabees called the maccabees when they are atheist? Read my article on this great band - they have been at it for a few years now, but slowly making it.

Thanks for the advice. I am trying to start an Industrial/metal band with my fiance, but we need some software. Any ideas for any type of freeware, because right now, money is VERY tight for us.

Brianzen - I would love to hear your music! Maybe you should create a youtube video and link it in a hub for the world to hear? That is the beauty of the internet!! Promote your work and get it out there!

shazwellyn profile image

Bennythewriter - creativity comes in many forms... look to seo to help promote your work... whether it is music, writing or the arts... it is all valid! Activity of art is mostly promotion! The art is the easy thing!!!

shazwellyn profile image

shazwellyn 6 years ago from Great Britain Author

l.harageones - what do you need software for exactly? Mixing? Promotion? Burning?

Think outside of the box... there are lots of mixing websites out there... want sounds? Listen to the noise around you, record them and integrate them. You can get lots of mixing equipment very cheaply. I recently picked up an old mixer for a £5 - still works and does the job!!!

car boot sales, table top, newspapers... free recycling websites... cheap, cheap, cheap! Ask favours.. dont be afraid to ask - people can only say no!

You dont have to have a lot of money to be artistic - creativeness comes in many guises :)

I love music very much. You give us amazing information about how to promote our talent in music and become a rock star. With many talent show in television, I hope it help us to give a new spirit to develop our talent in music. I believe this hub useful for us. Rate up.

Prasetio - the talent shows are an opportunity for people. What I find is that it artificialises music and moulds the participants so as they all sound the same. Now, you get a bad like the National - you get what you see, warts and all! They are interactive and have a fan base that are loyal.

Im sorry, but I dont like what Simon Cowell represents - it is like processed meat... I prefer organic!

What bands need to do is look to bands like the national as a model. They are interactive (twitter, myspace, facebook, meets their fans), great live and keeps their fingers on the pulse. Many fans are looking for genuinity which you cant get with factory made bands.

Say no to downloading free - especially to new up and coming bands - lets keep music alive!
