Rooney Mara: Is the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo the Next Beautiful Star To Rise?

One of the hottest actresses in Hollywood is The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo star Rooney Mara. Rooney began acting in 2005 but her career has really taken off this past year with roles in A Nightmare on Elm Street and The Social Network. She is one of the most searched personalities on the Internet and one of the most sought after actresses by directors. Rumor has it that Spike Lee is hoping to land Rooney for his remake of the South Korean film Oldboy. With The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo now in theaters, Rooney is sure to be more popular than ever!

What some fans of Rooney Mara may not realize is that The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is also remake. While it is based on Swedish author Stieg Larsson's first book in his Millennium series, that book was previously made into a film in Sweden. The star of that film, as well as two subsequent films from the book series, was Noomi Rapace (see above). The American film is also scheduled for two sequels which will also star Rooney as Lisbeth.

Rooney really delved into the role of Lisbeth Salander. It is not unusual for a dedicated actress to change her hairstyle for a role, but Rooney even went so far as to get the piercings her character's physical appearance called for rather than opting for allowing the makeup department to fake Lisbeth's extensive body art. The look may come as a bit of shock to Rooney's fans who have come to expect a fresh faced girl next door, but after the initial surprise, fans will likely welcome this new aspect of the young star.

As Rooney Mara becomes a more well known name, this young lady will certainly strive to make better and better films with bigger parts in each. She has already shown a wide range of talent, bringing depth and emotion to the characters she has played whether dealing with routine college life or facing nightmarish monsters. While her natural good looks and charming personality undoubtedly has helped her fan base grow quickly, it is her talent as a performer that has Hollywood directors knocking on her door.

So if you are not familiar with this great actress, hopefully this hub will introduce you and encourage you to seek out more info on her. If you are already a fan, then you already know what a treasure she is and likely have either already seen or plan to soon see The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. From all reports it is an excellent adaption of the book and both Rooney and her co-star Daniel Craig do great jobs in the film.

Rooney has plenty on her plate for the future as The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is already scheduled for sequels. Spike Lee is knocking at the door and she is working on films for Terrence Malick (Badlands, The Thin Red Line) and Kathryn Bigelow (Near Dark, The Hurt Locker). Her current fans are sure to soon have more reasons to love her while new fans will certainly be brought on board. The sky is the limit for bright new star!

I can not describe how amazing this girl is. Cute girl next door, beauty with light brown hair, dark but vulnerable Lisbeth or that stylish Audrey Hepburn appearance - everything fits perfectly on her.

Sorry to say, but no one can be better Lisbet than Noomi Rapace. The original movies are just so good.
