Rosa

by Chuck RitenouR

verse 1:

Rosa was a gypsy from the south of France

People came from miles around to watch the gypsies dance

two shows a night by lantern light, Rosa danced beneath the stars

while her lover played the mandolin by the gypsy fire

verse 2:

She made her way to London dancin' in the streets

and people came from miles around threw money at her feet

Soon her name was in the marquis lights, she was London's biggest star

while her lover waited patiently by the gypsy fire,

chorus:

dance, Rosa dance like they've never seen

your castanets are keepin' time with the rhythm of your feet

love is waiting for you in the south of France

by the gypsy fire, dance Rosa dance.

verse 3:

Half a lifetime later in the south of France

people come from miles around to watch the children dance

two show a night by lantern light they dance beneath the stars

while their daddy plays the mandolin by the gypsy fire.

chorus:

dance, Rosa dance like they've never seen

your castanets are keepin' time with the rhythm of your feet

love is waiting for you in the south of France

by the gypsy fire, dance Rosa dance.

the end.
