Two musicians found eacother

Roxette - Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle

They both had a really nice background as musicians. In 1986 they descided to perform together as Roxette. Per Gessle had written many songs and Marie Fredriksson had a lovely voice.

Roxette was a success - they had nineteen UK Top 40 hits and four US number one single with, "The Look", "Listen to Your Heart", "It Must Have Been Love" and "Joyride". After this came "Dangerous" and "Fading Like a Flower" , "Dressed for Success" It must have been love was played in the loved movie Pretty Woman.

2002 September 11 Marie was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She had an operation and recovered slowly. The following years, Roxette had to be on the back burner because of her convalecens.

Per Gessle continued to work with concerts and recordings but on June 18 2010 Roxette performs live at the wedding party of Crown princess Victoria and Daniel Vestling in Stockholm.

Now the band is coming back and are on a world tour and will finish with a new album. Per Gessle was on Swedish TV this week and expressed his joy that they both are back together.

Thanks irenemaria, now I know who was behind those U.S. hits and their bio some. The vids are great too. A lot of older bands and musicians are making successful comebacks and CDs. In the U.S. R.E.M., Paul Simon and a few others are putting out fantastic new music. Am going to check out Roxette further.
