Spring is here!
Have you ever been inspired when reading a hub?
I'm sure you have, like me many times.
This morning I read a hub by Jackie Lynnley called I Saw Spring Jackie wrote a beautiful poem and her photos were an absolute treat!
Jackie had photographed some wonderfull plants in bud and some already flowering, I was so envious of the photos especially the Magnolia, I decided to go for a walk and see what I could find - was spring here?
It certainly looks like spring, the sky is blue and the sun is shining.
This Mornings Sunrise and Snowdrops
While out photographing the sunrise this morning, I was delighted to see snowdrops in the churchyard and decided I would come back and photograph them later.
Having read Jackie's hub, my first thought was of the snowdrops - so that was my first stop!
A Woodpecker and Crocus
After scrabbling around on my knees in the churchyard I walked down the lane. It was so quiet all I could hear was the birds singing. Suddenly I heard a new sound I stopped and looked around to see where it was coming from. It was quite loud and I can only describe it as a vibrating sound much like a branch creaking, it would last 2-3 seconds and then stopped, I was intrigued.
There above me at the top of a tree was a woodpecker, I was amazed the sound was coming from a bird, but sure enough every time he tapped into the tree the sound filled the air.
Walking on, I found these clumps of crocus growing at the side of the road, they looked so beautiful they made me smile.
Well I haven't seen any Magnolia but I did just spot this beautiful flower in someone's garden, fortunately it was close to the roadside, so I hoped they wouldn't object to me photographing it!
The Fungus on this branch seems to have taken over completely. They reminded me of skirts worn by dancing girls as they twirled around!
The last few photos as I head for home. The Daffodils are looking a little tired after the frost at the weekend but they still brighten up the lane.
Dedicated to Jackie
Well I've had a fabulous day so far, I've had a wonderful walk in the sunshine and it certainly felt like spring out there. I've seen and photographed some lovely spring flowers and I've written a hub!
All in all that's pretty much a perfect day to me!
So a big thank you to Jackie for her hub and the inspiration - this hub is dedicated to you!
