Bart Simpson, son of Homer and Marge is a wild and crazy rebellious ten-year-old who is always pushing things to the limit, with no regard whatsoever $6 for authority figures. The name Bart is actually an anagram for Brat.
Let’s Introduce The Simpson Family
Homer Simpson, head of the household, works in Springfield at the Nuclear Power Plant as a safety inspector. His dopey childish behavior gives his character a unique loving personality that fans crave. Homers catch phrase is D’oh! that is said by him quite frequently whenever something bad is about to or has happened to him and after saying something stupid. Homer is a borderline overweight alcoholic who is at times crude.
Maggie is the baby of the family and is the spitting image of Lisa. Very rarely will you ever see Maggie without a pacifier in her mouth.
Lisa Simpson, daughter of Homer and Marge, is a sweet eight-year-old vegetarian girl whom excels in school and has all the brains in the family.
There are two animals in the Simpson household, which are Santa’s Little Helper, the dog and a cat named Snowball II.
The Simpson show has evolved quite a bit as you can see by the videos as when they first appeared in 1987, making their debut on The Tracy Ulman Show, until present day.
I remember when The Simpsons first aired; it was one that we did not want to miss on Sunday evenings. Who would have ever thought that this show would be such a success? I think everyone knows whom you are talking about when you say The Simpsons show. When my twins were four years old we had an N-64 gaming system (it was mine) and one of the games we had was called The Simpsons. Basically it was Bart on a skateboard and you had to take him to different levels within the game. Allan and Matt just loved to watch either my husband or myself play the game. They were just so fascinated by the game. They are both fantastic at skate boarding now and I always have wondered if they learned by watching Bart, just a thought.
So many spin-offs to the actual show such as in 2007 The Simpsons Movie was released and was the eighth highest grossing film for that year at over 500 million dollars as well as comics, books and video games. Seven-Eleven stores as a promotion for the movie transformed 11 stores in the USA and Canada to Kwick-E-Marts (convenience store on The Simpsons Show) costing a mere 10 million dollars.
Matt Groening, the creature of the show, a true genius that modeled the Simpsons after his own family. Mats mother wore her hair in a beehive in the 60’s and Bart was modeled after his brother Mark.
