If You Were A Smurf - Visit The Smurf Name Generator

Love them or loathe them, these little blue critters never seem to go away

.

You know for sure that at some point a TV or film executive will be clearing out a loft sometime and uncover an old Papa or Baby Smurf, rub his chin fiendishly and say "I've just had a brilliant idea." Yeah, of course you have - more 80s crud, just what we need!

Just been watching the rugby on TV, French rugby fans dressed as Smurfs - the Name Generator needs to include a 'translate' button.

Films, TV n Stuff

One can only imagine the money generated by these little falsetto-voiced mis-shapes.

Film 1965 - the foreign language classic, Les Aventures des Schtroumpfs" (I kid you not - my parenthesis, not the film's). Gross=...yes.

TV 1981 -NBC ran a Hanna Barbera series which was finally taken off the air in 1989. Eight years of smurfitude. Dear Me, we watched anything in those days.

DVD Series releases have continued sporadically for the last 2 decades and in Australia they even created a 'Smurfettes' series (vertically challenged smurfs?), they stopped selling these in the mid 1990s.

Film 2011 - A 3D version of The Smurfs comes to our screens starring Neil Patrick Harris etc.

On the back of the film release, the Aussies and Warner Brothers start to remarket the DVDS, not in series but as single episodes (presumably inspired by greed and a desire to rip off children).

And go and check out ebay...everybody else has been raking through bags of their kids old stuff in the loft in search of Smurfy Bullion!

Neil Patrick Harris , "I needed the money but I'm more of a gonk fan to be honest."

Smurf Yourself

I like this site.

You put in your name and it tells you what you'd be called if you were a smurf....and no I'm not 'Cynical Smurf', I am Bipartisan Smurf.

Here's the link, discover your true smurfiness......

Here are the Smurf Names of Other famous people:-

Barack Obama - Flashy Smurf

Colonel Gadafi - Crazy Smurf

Angelina Jolie -Narcoleptic Smurf

Robert Deniro -Strange Smurf

Neil Patrick Harris - Sweet-Toothed Smurf (he's in the film so I included him).

You get the picture, so go and Smurf Yourself, your friends, your family, your workmates. It's addictive, even if you think Smurfs are silly.

There's another 'word friendly' smurf name generator here for the young and innocent.

Do You Love Em....or Loathe em????

Do Smurfs Make you Smile?

  • Yes, I love those little guys

My maiden name has me as " Urban Smurf" and I will stick with that as my married name has me as " Wealthy Smurf". That is just so funny and waaaay off!

Voted UP and FABI. Love, Maria

Julie -

This is definitely a strange post. Strange that I find it interesting. Even Stranger that I went to see what my name would be. Somewhat Strange in its response to my Strange name in real life. I wonder how it ever came up with "Strange Smurf" as my smurf name? Hmmmmm! Interesting hub! lol

Jools, thanks for the ride back through my childhood. I loved the smurfs. I remember watching them when I was young. Heck, if I see them on, I would watch them today. I forgot all about that movie. I will have to order it on paper view. Awesome article! Voted up, awesome, and funny.

Okay! Something is wrong here...I just entered my maiden name - TRYING to get something decent. I'm Dirty Smurf. What the heck?!?!?! I am a Dirty Drunken Tickle Smurf! Sounds like a long night at a good party! AND my husband is Beautiful Smurf! How does that work? :)

Victoria Lynn profile image

Victoria Lynn 4 years ago from Arkansas, USA

I need to check out the kid site. Maybe I won't be Evil Smurf there. Okay, I checked. I was Happy Smurf, which totally doesn't fit! Then, instead of using my real name, I used my pen name and was much happier. The regular link named me as Tarty Smurf, and the kids' link named me Crunchy Smurf. How fun are those!

LABrashear profile image

LABrashear 4 years ago from My Perfect Place, USA

So, I had to add - on the kid site I'm Tickle Smurf...I'm a Drunken Tickle Smurf. Fun!

Haha, the generator spit out "Hypochondriac Smurf." Interesting...I was hoping for a more sexier name.:-)

Nice. I'm Drunken Smurf! I loved this. I liked the Smurfs in the early '80's. My kids have been begging to watch the movie and I have been putting it off. I do not think it looks very good. But! Add a Drunken Smurf and that might help! :) Voted up!

How fun is this hub!!! love it! I don't know how I became Evil Smurf, though, but, alas, that's what the name generator said, so I must embrace it. heeheehee Great hub!
