Something For Everyone In Music!
Everybody has their favorite musicians and I think the ones selected here are pretty well known, so I hope most of you enjoy one or all of them. There's a little bit of bio/info on each one, or commentary. I hope you enjoy watching and listening to the videos, I tried to pick a unique video for each one, as in Queen "I'm going slightly mad" is one of their lesser known songs, but it's kinda cool huh? Unique is definitely the word.
1) Michael Buble
Michael Buble takes on a lot of older songs from the Frank Sinatra era. He also does covers for some Beatle songs and recent pop songs. There have been some songs by him only that came out, one of the most popular ones is HOME. I think he's very worthwhile to listen to, because not only does he have a fantastic male voice, but his spin on these old songs makes them new and more accessible to younger people, as he is a fairly recent artist.
2) Celine Dion
Celine Dion is an amazing artist. People from all over the world connect with her voice and her music, it transcends languages. She does not write songs, but her vocals are incredible and so are her perfomances, she shows incredible passion and is great to watch on stage. In her personal life, Celine fell in love with her producer at a young age, who is 26 years her senior, but their love also transcends and they now have 3 children, a son and new twins. She is French Canadian and from a very large family of 14. Celine continues to dominate the stage with her voice "that launched a thousand ships" know for her famous hit "My Heart Will Go On." Here she is singing a hot tune adapted from Cyndi Lauper's "I Drove All Night"
3) Queen
Short Bio- Compared to Fergie, 70% of the people in a poll chose Freddie Mercury over her as best singer of all time. Freddie is unforgettable, I just wish I was old enough to have enjoyed his live concerts. One of thier most well known hits was Bohemian Rhapsoday, which is called Rock Opera- rock music with a full orchestra. This song brought them into the mainstrem music world and jumpstarted thier already great and talented career.
Queen- the band of Freddie Mercury and 3 others, is one of the absolute best bands ever. Each member of the band wrote songs of their own and some did solo albums as well.
Freddie Mercury: front man singer with a voice range of falsetto to alto, one of the best voices ever, listen to "Save Me",
Brian May, an amazing guitarist who fashioned his own guitar in his basement and uses it onstage,
Roger Taylor, sings backup and plays drums, one of his songs Queen sings he wrote is "I'm in love with my car", he sings backup vocals in many songs including "Bohemian Rhapsody."
And John Deacon bass guitar.
Freddie, the very flamboyant singer of the band, who struts around the stage said once if he wasn't a singer he'd be a male prostitute I believe it was. He made love to his fans on stage. In one of his video concerts, he says, "Relax, take of your clothes if you like.." And the fans replied "You take of you clothes", Freddie say, "Fuck off!"
Freddie was born Farrokh Bulsara September 5, 1946 and died of AIDS on November 24, 1991. He had over a four octave range.
I read somewhere that Freddie could have any man he wanted, even straight men in the Hollywood scene. He was demanding in who and what he wanted and was a sexual prowess. This shows on stage and makes for quite an exciting performance.
4) Bee Gees
The Bee Gees were very popular in the 70's with hits in movies such as Grease with Grease and Saturday Night Fever with Stayin Alive. But their other hits are so incredible including Massachusetts, I Started A Joke, Words, How Deep Is Your Love, Too Much Heaven, Trajedy, and Heartbreaker. I think the Bee Gees wrote some of the most touching romantic songs in their time. There were four brothers and they seperated into 2 groups. Andy Gibb went solo, he passed away young, and Barry, Maurice, and Robin formed the Bee Gees. They sing so sweetly and passionately about love. Unfortuantely just recently another of the brothers, Maurice also passed away leaving Barry and Robin who do not really tour anymore, but their music is unforgettable.
What About Love
5) Heart
Heart is a 2 woman band of 2 sisters, Ann and Nancy Wilson. They are so incredible, I feel they are one of the most powerful female rock bands ever. Nancy is known for being an amazing guitar player and back up vocals, while Ann's voice is so powerful, it'll blow you away. I truly could not ignore the talent of these two women who have 2 Greatest Hits albums. You have to listen to Ann sing and experience the Wilson sisters known as HEART.
