Gift Lyrics Song Lyrics for the taking

Gift Lyrics for those who want to write a song

Below are three different sets of lyrics you, the man or woman - or group - who write tunes and want words to use. No strings attached - and no pun intended - for they've been written a long time and I'm not particularly into music. You're welcome to them all.

The first, Road Train, is very Australian. You could call it 'Country and Western.' A typical road train is a large truck such as a Kenworth or Mac hauling maybe three trailers full of cattle. The others songs are of a more romantic bent. So here they are:

Country and Western : Road Train

Driving south from Darwin, tyres singing on the road

With worries ‘bout the cops and being booked for overload.

When up ahead I saw this gal , hitching a ride to town,

I decided that I stop for her, and that’s when I slowed down.

Chorus:

In Summer time red dust blows across the wild and dusty plain

And whole darn Top End cryin’ out in dire need of rain.

It’s then you wish you’d never left that city far away.

With its home-cooked meals, nice cold beer, before you hit the hay.

This gal was really rigged up fancy, in mini-skirt and blouse,

The sought of gal who’d have a drink and be willing to carouse.

So I stopped to pick her up, on that fateful southern run,

But before I could say “hop up, love” she produced a great big gun

Chorus – 2nd Time

“Get outa here, you Truckin’ man, or I’ll shoot you, that’s for sure.

And I saw in her eyes a deadly gleam I’d never seen before.

So I left my dear old Kenworth, just standing idle on.

And it seemed that in less than a minute my life and truck were gone.

Chorus – 3rd Time.

So here I am down south again without my rig or load,

a victim to a highway lass who’d robbed me on the road.

So listen all you truckies who drive those on the dusty plain

Never stop to pick a gal up, it’ll only lead to pain.

Last Chorus – sing twice.

A romantic song about love lost

Song – Rain Across the Water

Rain across the water fills me with tears, rain across the waters recaptures all those fears.

For the ocean’s where t I lost you, darling, to a raging nor’ west sea, when you went out surfing all alone and never came back to me. You were caught up in the tempest, oh, that day was so forlorn, and that rain across the water on that dreadful winter morn.

For its there that I lost you darling, to a raging nor’ west sea, when you went out surfing all alone and never came back to me.

The rain, it lashed down from the sky and the lightning crackled round, the thunder roared out loudly as you, my darling, drowned.

Now you’re gone, it’s been so long, the pain within is still so strong- I’m reminded of you of you in every surfing song. But you’ve gone to the nor’ west sea where the whirling gulls fly low. Where the wild waves crash on the outer reefs and the coral just below. Where the storm clouds, black with thunder, reach up towards the sky. Where the dancing waves cover over you and I cannot say goodbye.

For they never found you, darling, though the search went on for days,

And the boats went out and the people searched, to me all seemed a haze.

Rain across the water fills me with tears, rain across the water brings all those fears.

For its there that I lost you, darling, to a raging nor’ west sea, when you went out surfing all alone and never came back to me.

I will miss you so, my darling, I’ll miss you ‘til I die, for the dancing waves they cover you and I cannot say goodbye.

Another Romantic Song About Love Lost

Jessica

Jessica; Jessica…

Jessie came into my life at sunrise, a gleam of gold upon the early swell. Suntanned figure on

A ski, we were never meant to be…

Oh, Jessica…

Jessica; Jessica.

Jessie came into my life at sunrise, a gleam of gold upon the sea. Suntanned figure on a ski,

We were never meant to be…

Oh, Jessica…

She was laughter in the rain, and she brought me joy and pain

She was everything that I was meant to share.

Oh, my darling, Jessica - why don’t you care.

Jessica; Jessica.

Jessie came into my life at sunrise, a gleam of gold upon the sea.

Suntanned figure on a ski, we were never meant to be…

Oh, Jessica

Where the ocean meets the land, where the blue waves pound the sand,

Where I met her and then lost her to the sea.

Jessica came into my life at sunrise, a gleam of gold upon a frothy wave.

Golden figure on a ski, my girl, my girl – just meant for me.

Oh, God! She was everything, everything to me, but we, we were never meant to be…

Gift Lyrics - Song lyrics for the taking

I hope one or all of these songs were of use to you.   If you do decide to use the lyrics, or even the ideas, you're welcome to them.   It would be gratifying to me, of course, that you let me know about it if you do so.   But it's not essential.   As the saying goes, 'As we give, so shall we receive.'  and 'What goes round comes round.'    So good luck to you.

Tom.

Great songs...I really liked them. I can well imagine all the twanging guitar and emotional vocal on the country and western one. Nice one :)
