Blues in the Night

A strong hand grips the guitar's neck,

and skillful fingers find all the chords,

A pick makes the golden strings whine and cry,

as soulful sounds, it soon affords.

Patting feet, keep up a rhythmic beat,

and with his heartfelt words to share,

Guitar man belts out that fine tune,

while his Blue's story dances on the air.

There's a long train coming on down the track,

with the hobo's riding on it out there,

The song keeps on rolling like the train,

patting his guitar, in sounds so rare..

A clickty-clack on his guitar he makes,

whining strings sing out into the night,

Guitar man out singing songs on his porch,

by the yellow moon, so bright.

Blues call out to mimic sounds of the wind,

beckoning us to come, all draw so near,

Blues man's melody bringing tears of joy,

and of a spirit so strong, for us to hear.

Guitar chorus moans on, its sad song,

never wearying, under the stars so long.

Happiness comes in, and a peace to begin,

the guitar man, now, is going on home.

REFRAIN: Guitar man, Blues guitar man, play a guitar song like you only can.

Pat your feet, play us a song, on a warm summer evening, all night long....

There has never been an instrument so cherished as the guitar and the wonderful styles of music that it can produce by skillful and soulful hands. Chuck Berry, Eric Clapton, Jerry Garcia, Van Halen, Jimmi Hendrix, Steve Vai, Keith Richards, Santana, and so many more represent the best in guitar playing.
