Oakvale: Space Arena
Space Arena was the only song written by our guitarist and was apparently a sequel to, "Pandemic." Because of his strong feelings for having it be a sequel I wrote lyrics in a similar sense to that of its predecessor. I liked what I came up with.
(Verse 1)
I step into my spaceship,
and I turn the key.
I'm off to far away places,
none of which you have seen.
I am searching for a special place,
where I can ponder this reality.
(Chorus x2)
And all you've said,
and all you've done,
is here to taunt you,
so you're on the run.
>
And all you've thought,
and all you've felt,
is being challenged,
in this space arena.
(Verse 2)
Past the moon and the stars,
the planets whiz by like memories.
Always moving, looking for the next thing,
that could lead me back to who I might be.
Wishing I could understand,
what the cosmos, has in store for me.
(Chorus x4)
And all you've said,
and all you've done,
is here to taunt you,
so you're on the run.
>
And all you've thought,
and all you've felt,
is being challenged,
in this space arena!
New Horizons
It's an odd song that was very difficult to write for because of it's odd time signature. My guitarist thinks the quality of a song is dependent upon the difficult and technical expertise of any song. I HUGELY disagree. Music is music, plain and simple. If it sounds good, no reason to think on it anymore.
Two influences that might come through. Red Hot Chili Peppers and Pink Floyd. Yeah, have fun with that thought and listen to it here.
