Swedish Idols 2011
About The Swedish Idols 2011
Some seasons I've watched the Swedish Idols, and I'm very impressed by their singing. Some are musically very talented. Many of the idols have become successful, not only the winners. Some of the winners, on the other hand, haven't actually been able to sell many records and become famous in Sweden or any other country. One of the winners, who has succeeded also outside of Sweden, is Agnes Carlsson. At the age of 17, she won Swedish Idol 2005. In 2009 she had a big hit in Europe called ”Release me” followed by more hits. In 2010 when Victoria, the Crown Princess of Sweden, married Daniel Westling, Agnes did a duet with the Swedish singer Björn Skifs singing the song ”When you tell the world you're mine”. Björn Skifs had the first Swedish #1 hit in USA 1974 with his band ”Blue Swede” and the song "Hooked on a feeling". You might remember this song from the tv series ”Ally McBeal” in the late 1990's as well.
This season's singers
This season, year 2011, the Swedish idols have been very young, most of them around 16 years old. In my opinion they haven't been as good as in the earlier seasons, but maybe I've been wrong. As I watched yesterday's program, I was very impressed with one of the girls, Moa Lignell, who sang a song she has written herself. Now there's only six of the idols left. Moa is definitely a potential winner of the contest this year. She stands out from the crowd, writing her own songs at a young age.
Another girl is Amanda Fondell. She both looks and sounds like an artists already. Just like Moa she stands out from the crowd with a unique voice and she's very talented and sweet. It's easy to like her.
Another Amanda is Amanda Persson. She has a great, big voice and she also acts like a star. She's very talented to be just 16 years old. The chances are big that she'll be in the final of Idol this year.
André Zuniga is an idol, who's into reagge music. He's very charmy and probably a favourite among teenage girls. He has been ill the past few weeks, but he has been up on the stage every Friday night singing anyway.
Robin Stjernberg has an amazing voice. Not all of the four jury members Pelle Lidell, Alexander Bard, Laila Bagge Wahlgren and Anders Bagge has liked his performances so far. The majority of the jury and the audience think he has an amazing voice. I have to agree with that. It's obvious that Robin lives for the music. He's very alive when he's singing on stage.
The last idol of the six young singers, who's left is Molly Pettersson Hammar. She was only 15 years old when she applied for Idol. Her voice is just amazing and I really like her charisma. She has a mature voice in a young body.
Compared to American Idols, Swedish Idols has a much smaller audience. The winners in USA have gotten famous not only in the states, but also arund the world. For example I guess anyone in Europe, who's interested in music, knows who Kelly Clarkson is.
It's going to be interesting to see who the winner in Swedish Idols 2011 will be. It's goning to be the last winner in Swedish Idol for now. It's the last season. I think that's good. People get tired of programs like Idols if they run for too many seasons in a row.
With this hub I just wanted to tell the world about all the great musicans there are in Sweden, the small country in northern Europe. The Swedish Idols has been an interesting program to watch over the years. Many stars have been born thanks to this program.

There are many creatures in Scandinavian folklore. I have met some of them in an outdoor exhibtion. I'm sure you wouldn't like to meet "Raamt".
