Singer Susan Boyle

Susan Boyle - Britain's Got Talents Newest Star

So just who is this Susan Boyle that everyone is talking about anyway? The question seems to be on alot of peoples minds lately. If you search YouTube or Google Susan Boyle's name, you will find lots of recent news on the new singing sensation.

Apparently this little lady has been a hidden diamond for almost 48 years, living quietly amongst her fellow neighbors in Scotland. Her incredible talent was discovered recently when she appeared on the popular talent show "Britain's Got Talent", where she absolutely bowled the judges and audience over with her mesmerizing voice.

Coming out in a simple dress, no makeup and hair looking like she'd just taken a windy walk, Susan Boyle's appearance didn't cause anyone to take her very seriously at first. When she opened her mouth to sing however, you could see the looks of astonishment on the judges faces. Susan Boyle's voice not only gripped the audience but sounded like the voice of someone who had sung on the stage for many years.

Always one to cheer for the underdog, I have taken a fancy to this unpretentious, ordinary looking little lady with the voice of an angel. She reminds me of someones auntie, someone I could sit down to have a nice chat with or have a cup of coffee with. How her voice escaped serious notice until now is beyond me....

Without further ado, check out Susan Boyle's videos here on YouTube and weigh in on what you think. I think Susan Boyle may be the next biggest star next to hmmmm...Britney Spears? or Luciano Pavarotti?

Whatever the future holds for Susan Boyle, it sure looks good because she seems to not only charmed the masses with her voice but with her spunky little personality to boot.

Thanks for posting this Dorsi - I blogged about her initial performance but I hadn't caught up with the semi-final! Talk about pressure! I'm also pleased to see she hasn't been "made over" too much to.

Wow, she certainly got a lot of coverage. I love how humble she is. A lot of people can learn from her positive attitude. It is sad, however, that it took her so long to get to where she is. I honestly don't understand how talent like her's can go unnoticed for so long. Thanks for this hub. It was an awesome read.

Her second song in the semi finals was not as good as the other one, the poor thing slipped up in the beginning then came back strong. I love her, the way she looks, dresses, I just get this strong compassion and admiration for her. Go Susan...

I personally hope Susan Boyle doesn't win tonight - she doesn't deserve to. Several of the other acts (in fact almost all the other acts in the final) are way more talented than her..and anyone that thinks she is humble hasn't seen her on tv recently.

She probably will win though as she has had so much publicity. It's what I call the 'Paul Potts' effect. When someone turns up to the initial auditions who looks dreadful but can actually sing (and don't forget she has had a professional voice coach for over 6 years, so it's not exactly a surprise that she can sing) they always get more publicity and votes than another contestant who has a better voice but also looks the part.

Shaun Smith, Shaheen Jafargholi & even little Hollie Steel have better voices than Susan Boyle. The dancers Flawless, Diversity and Aidan Davis are brilliant and I would be happy to see any of them win. Julian Smith the saxophonist has a fabulous talent and is truly humble.

I haven't decided yet who I will be voting for as that will depend on their performance tonight...but it certainly won't be Susan Boyle!

Well I hope she wins. The bad press and typical British turn coat behaviour must have been hard for her. That;s from a Brit. I have a Hub and a Zone on Helium re Susan and will update as soon as the result is in. There were some good performance tonight and I loved Stavros Flatley but hope Susan gets a chance one way or another. Probably not a popular opinion just now but an honest one :)

Bravo! I loved the way she did this and she silenced all her critics in her first note. Fantastic... And a lesson to all who have the courage to believe. Thanks for this Hub Dorsi.

In the end I was a little sad for her, it must have been hard to be built up by the public the let down so quickly on the final show. She does have a heavenly voice and I am sure she will do well. Good hub!

Simon has said that Susan Boyle will be the greatest star he has ever discovered. And she's proving him right. Check out Wild Horses on you tube, both audio and in performance at the AGT finals. Fantastic. Can't wait for November 24 and her album.
