Animal Art And Photography

Animal Lover Confessional:

Animal art and photography is a stimulating outlet. I enjoy drawing, painting, and photographing a wide range of animals. One of my favorite animal creations is the oil painting I created of Buster a couple of years after he passed away. Buster was such a zany and careful bull dog/Siberian husky mix, so I was glad I captured a bit of this essence in the painting. Of course many of the animals I love are wild animals and not pets, but for the purposes of this hub I am calling all of these animals my "pets" because I adore each creature. This photo gallery hub includes art and photography that I have created over the years to celebrate the animal kingdom, as it were. Sometimes it is fun just to make a cute animal picture hub, so for your viewing pleasure, here are a few of my cherished "pets".

I am glad you enjoyed some of the animal pictures :).

Triplet Mom,

Thanks, I love big cats too, so I hope to draw more soon.

G-Ma,

I hope the snow lets up for you soon. Happily in the valley we are not having snow, but up the mountains where part of my family lives they are experiences some pretty severe storms. I hope you have a Merry Christmas :).

Great photos. Our lab mix, Kiera HATES having her picture taken. She's scared of the flash (also afraid of lightening) so any photos we take must be outside.

Nice hub.

Hi Joe,

I can understand how some animals do not like to have their picture taken. My old dog Buster was quite a ham for the camera, I miss the old guy. Thanks for stopping by :).

Nice, Sweetiepie! I'm a big animal lover, myself. We've had cats, birds, fish, lizards, frogs... well, you get the idea. We are currently taking care of a sparrow that we rescued as a baby, several years ago.

I love the big cats, too. Since we can't keep them as pets, I've had a Lion, and a panther tattooed on my arms. That way I can take them with me everywhere. They're cheaper to feed that way, too! Merry Christmas Sweetie!

Merry Christmas to you rmr! I am glad you big cats are able to go everywhere with you, and yes that is much cheaper than taking car of one. Animals are so great, I just have to love them.

SweetiePie,

Thanks for sharing. I love all the big dogs. I Love Dos and my favorites are the one's with Shepherd and Husky bloodlines, stand-up ears. Looks like you too are fond of them according to all of the dates on these photos.

My favorite drawing is also the one of the cat by your paintbrushes. I would like to see a close-up of that. Good Share. C.S. Alexis

C.S. Alexis,

Dogs with Sheperd and Husky bloodlines are very beautiful. Lady dog was mostly Husky, but Buster was a mix of Husky and Boxer. We did not decide on his father, but several dogs jumped over the fence, hence the tale of getting your dogs fixed before they have pups. However, personallly I always thought Buster was a beautiful mixed breed in my humble opinion. I sure did I love all my pets, but I tend to be very obsessed with all dates, thus all the references to them. It is great how we both love pets :).

Dottie,

I so love animals too, which is one reason these are my favorite things to draw.

Starrkissed,

Yes I am very fond of the watercolor pencil drawing. I always appreciate your comments :).

Wow, you got lots of photos, thanks. The half coyote dog is a bonus to see.

Panda was an interesting dog. Some neighbors gave her to my parents when their dog passed away. Apparently they bred coyotes with German shepherds, which is not something I would do myself, but she was a beautiful dog. I have never really been afraid of coyotes since I grew up around a dog that was half coyote. Actually, they scare away easily, but I used to watch one in the forest that would also look at me.

Beautiful dog indeed. I've never been near a coyote, that is an exciting experience to be with animals, rare as I might think to breed like that.

Panda was half coyote and I grew up with her, but I think one of the reason local coyotes never bothered me because I know how they act. Coyotes scare easily, and usually stay away from humans.
