London Eye

The following pictures are in a sequence which start at westminster tube station (underground/subway) then the London Eye, Walking past Saint Paul's Cathedral, the Thames path and finally arriving at Tower Bridge in London UK.

I had joined a newly formed company at the time and the owner of the place wanted some pictures on the walls and i volunteered to go out and take some pictures to put up in the workplace.

It was a very cloudy day, which is very common in London so I took most of the pictures in black and white and later added some effects using photoshop. This is the first time my pics are going online (eek!).

I came out at Westminster Station where I saw the abbey and the famous big ben which is a nickname of the great bell of the clock. I had to cross the westminster bridge in order to take a picture of the palace and big ben.

While crossing the bridge I saw the famous london double decker bus which was running for the last week before being phased out so i had to take a picture of one of the buses.

While crossing the westminster bridge I could see the London Eye to my left.

At the end of the bridge I saw a sculpture of a lion which aligned nicely with the path names...

I turned back to look at Big Ben once again, but could not get a clear picture so i crossed over to the other side of the road to take the following picture...

I found this fountain nearby. I love abstact type sculptures and designs so had to take a picture.

Next I crossed the road once again to start my walk on the Thames path towards the London Eye and saw this amazing Dali sculpture.

After crossing the sculpture i turned back to look at the palace once again and took the following picture. Everytime i see this picture the background looks totally fake, but i can assure you that i took the picture myself and it's all 100% real. :)

I got to the London Eye and was really amazed at the way it was built ... I love watching mechanical objects at work.

This is an interesting place for me because I saw it in my dream very clearly approximately 5 years before i actually saw it in real life. I recognized it right away but was too busy looking at the place and forgot the name of the location.I guess this is how they used to sentence people to death in the earlier days.

Once i got to the tower bridge it started getting dark so I called it a day. Definitely a day i will remember for the rest of my life.

I hope you enjoyed the snaps...

You guide us in a wonderful place for a day with you, and made me feel that it's gonna be a regret if would never have chance to visit there in all life. All of your pictures here are wonderful, and I especially like the last one, so magnificent.

I have been to London many times but I have never seen it like that. It looks peaceful. I normally am fighting crowds, shopping bags under my arms and cranky kids in tow.

You have really captured some stunning images and not the usual 'postcard images'. Great angles.

Great job.

Amazing picture tour of London. I have not yet travelled to London, but this was a treat for my eyes. I am particularly fond of the work of Salvador Dali.

You have really captured the various moods of the day!

BTW The tower that holds the bell Big Ben is St.Stevens Tower.
