The Beauty of Sunset - From Different Places and Time

Call me an eclectic person. My various interests, as I spilled it out here in HubPages, include photography. When an announcement for another contest opens this month of November 2011, focusing on prose/poetry, creating writing and photo galleries; I didn't hesitate to recall what will be my most vivid photography series that was not published yet.

And my final choice is sunset. Yes, sunset! I had to drag my feet along the bay walk of Manila Bay in order to scout for a perfect timing, but photographing a perfect sunset is often smeared by pollution.

You can just imagine the smoke coming from the chimneys of anchored ships, blocking and adulterating the horizon.

It pestered me to think that I had to go back to the province in order to shoot a very fresh sunset. Still, I'm still irritated with the burning of rice stalks by the farm-helpers, also shading a cool angle.

It's as if I become a stealer of this perfect subject.

So, whenever I have time during my overseas work as a seafarer, I always carry my simple digital camera in order to record the sunset.

I've recorded my photographs on blank CDs and DVDs for future. I didn't make any slideshow regarding it, but I might as well include it here. I also shared it on Facebook, so, downloading those selections come in handy, while writing this hub.

Sunset may mean or denotes mix feelings or emotions as we age. There will be happiness as we remember happy memories and also sadness as we recall sad episodes in our lives.

Vivid hues of amber red or euphoria of pastel colors will transport you to the memory lane in your mind and reminisce bittersweet experiences that makes your as a human being.

More on my Practical Photography

Most of my photos are featured in my Practical Photography series.

I always incorporate shots of sunset whenever I have time because I can describe more different episodes of sunset if I have proof of gallery of it in my photo album collection.

The official photographer of our school during high school, once said to me that subject regarding nature, specially sunset will give me vast opportunity to explore the beauty of it.

Everyday, it is changing, and so our outlook in life.

Whether you're living in the farm, just near the shore of the beach or in the big city, you can still sneak from the rigors of your job and hectic family life by recording whatever you fancy.

People, animals, nature...the possibilities are endless when it comes to creating your unique photo collections.

What can I say...sunset is a very timely subject, especially when our country being out-shadowed by bad news.

There's more to sunset's photographs. It's called reflection.

@Arian Rey: Thanks for this early appreciation. Sunset proposes a lot of subjects to all the people who like to watch it.

Painters paint it, elderly people gaze at it and even children can look at it without being blinded by its luster.

Those are beautiful pictures. If I could paint, I would. Since painting is not a talent that I have, like you, I take photographs. I liked seeing a little bit of different countries through your lens. Thanks for sharing.

@Cyndi10: Thanks for the appreciation. Me, too. I like to translate it into painting and see if I can still dabdle on painting.

What a superb photo gallery of sunset photos, Travel Man. My very very favorite (although I love all of them) is the reflection photo! Voted up!

@Denise Handlon: Thanks, Ms. D! That's also my favorite, although I like them all. I am planning to paint it one of these days.
