The Bling Ring Soundtrack
The Bling Ring Movie Soundtrack
The Bling Ring soundtrack will feature a musical score by two film composers, Brian Reitzell and Daniel Lopatin. The former drummer for Redd Kross, a punk band, Reitzell is not just a film composer, he's also a music supervisor and producer. However, he is most well-known for his contributions in the film music industry. In 2003, Reitzell was nominated for a BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) award for his work in Sofia Coppola's drama film Lost in Translation. He was nominated alongside Kevin Shields, the musician he collaborated with on Lost in Translation's score. As a drummer, Reitzell also worked with Air, an electronic duo based in France. Reitzell played the drums for the duo's 2001 recording album called 10 000 Hz Legend. Reitzell is also a member of the electronic pop group band called TV Eyes. His co-members in the band are Roger Joseph Manning Jr. and Jason Falkner.
The Bling Ring will be the fourth time that Reitzell gets to work with director Sofia Coppola. Reitzell also scored Coppola's The Virgin Suicides, Lost in Translation and Marie Antoinette. Reitzell's other film credits as a score composer are CQ, Friday Night Lights, Thumbsucker, Stranger Than Fiction, The Brothers Bloom, 30 Days of Night, Shrink, Beginners, Peacock, and Red Riding Hood.
Daniel Lopatin, on the other hand, is a musician known as Oneohtrix Point Never, his recording name. He has released several albums including Betrayed in the Octagon, Zones Without People and Russian Mind. The Bling Ring will be his first major movie soundtrack credit. He has however previously worked on a few short films - The Replacement Child, Maggie's Not Here, Solo.
